I have bought the 1st edition hardbacks with dust jackets of all Gardners novels except License Renewed and Cold in used book stores and the prices have ranged from $5 to $7 US dollars, if that helps. I am no expert and it could be that LR is worth more since it was his first novel, I do not know. Maybe it is rare to find a copy of LR. I know I have had no luck finding it so far.:#

Well, I can tell you that the Gardner's UK Edition books are worth more and some cases a lot more than the US Edition. For UK, the super rare title is COLD Hardback - you will find most of them as Ex-library copies - average price was $70, not ex-lib will be above $100. Other rare UK, are Nobody Lives Forever and Role of Honor, the fourth and fifth in the series respectively. These you can still find in very good condition and not exlib - close to $100.
Gardner's US Edition are not worth much and are plentiful - most rare would be Cold Fall and then License Renewed.
However, the real find would be the hardback edition of the tie-in License to Kill - there are several editions and all of them are rare - be prepared to fork out a few hundreds for those.

Goldfinger - if it is a real first edition, that is J. Cape and first printing, good condition, no writing or markings, will be a bargain at $30. You can always get the jacket either from the FEL Cape Edition or a reproduction copies.

There are several impression after the first, and subsequent impressions of course are not worth as much as the first. Other non-cape edition including the book club editions are not worth as much as the cape.

Too true, I managed to get £300 for my spare copy a few years ago now. And as you mentioned in the above post, none Capes are not worth a lot.
