T&A Bilbao tie arrived! (w/ pics)

Hey all,
I just received the black herringbone Turnbull & Asser tie worn by Pierce Brosnan in TWINE during the Bilbao bank sequence and also the Azerbaijan scenes.

It's one of my favorite Bond ties, as I consider Bond's entire wardrobe in the Bilbao scene to be the 'perfect' Bond suit. The charcoal gray 3-button suit, the blue spread collar T&A shirt, the solid silver buckle belt, and the herringbone tie is such a great look and a bit of a throwback to the Connery era in its simplicity and elegance, yet with nice contemporary touches.

I'd like to thank sruzgar (and later jonny-dh) for jumping on board with the order... I have to say I initially wasn't thrilled when T&A wanted a two order minimum in order to weave it at their factory (it wasn't in stock at their NY store). {[]

Oh, and thanks to Asp for assuring me for the 50th time that the tie is indeed black.

I can see it's black, but does it come with the purple-yellow tonalities as well? I just cannot distinguish them in your closeup photo.

I DO REGRET not having gone along with you on this! That Bilbao look is one of my favorites as well.

Wow! Count me in too please. I agree that Pierce never looked more Bond than in this classic suit combo. I never saw a close-up of the tie, it's a beauty!

Glad you all like it!

I spoke with someone at T&A in NY. If you don't live in the US I don't think they may ship to you (for example, I cannot order anything online from the Jermyn St store for territorial/legal reasons). As Mantis appears to be getting the contact info from simon, perhaps you guys could coordinate through him as opposed to me posting the email here and the T&A rep getting a bunch of random requests (this way you guys know you will all be getting the same thing).

I didn't refer to it as the "Bond tie" when I placed the order, merely as the black herringbone tie which I also supplied some pictures of. They have a herringbone tie at a smaller scale and I wanted to make sure it was not confused with that.

Satanama, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the tie on screen was not pure black! lol The tie does have a hint of the purplish tonalities you refer to (you can even see a little in my pic above). The fabric is black but a bit glossy which really gives it some life and slight color variations.

P.S. Just updated the main post with a pic from the movie for comparison.

Yeah i also seen the smaller scale one, i was going to buy it but i have basically the same thing but with white pokadots, its one of my fav ties. The bigger scale is deff nicer.

I consider T&A ties to be pretty overpriced, although for a piece of Bond history I was willing to shell out for it. But you could get beautiful woven silk ties from places like Charles Tyrwhitt for half the cost.

I've spotted several reasonable alternatives to this tie in the past. In fact I have one which has an identical pattern - just the tie is dark grey rather than black. Not sure if still available but if I can find any will post a link here.
