    Mantis,

This is the best I can do. It is not from the film, but was drawn up for "The James Bond Bedside Companion, by Raymond Benson.

Hopefully, you can find the movie version soon!

not sure if it was a Bond brochure or a brochure dedicated to OHMSS spacificaly ..

good luck with teh project David .. .. The Ian Fleming foundation might be a good place to contact regarding this...

    Mantis,

I have a shot of the original Piz Gloria coat of arms on paper ( back in 1995 there has not been much digial imaging) would it help you, if I made a scan?

Bondtoys, the Piz one, is that the Blofeld one? I am looking for the James Bond family crest specifically...I did receive some decent screen grabs from a board member but anything clearer would be greatly appreciated...

Had a custom signet ring made by Tiffany and Co. in the early 90's based on the Bond achievment of arms and motto. However, I had mine changed to reflect my maritime background. I had two seahorses added as supporters which were taken from the obverse of the Merchant Marine Expeditionary Medal that I was awarded for serving as a civilian mariner in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Also, the crest (the portion above the shield, helm, and terse) became Neptune holding a trident. I also had the shield of the U.S. Maritime Service added below the chevron. My motto is the true motto which is Non Sufficit Orbis.

Since Tiffany did not do artwork, I had a graphic artist draw it up. Tiffany then used the artwork to engrave my ring. My acievement of arms is consistent with propper heraldry and my research was conducted at the library.

    Mantis,

If I can find the artwork, I'll either e-mail or post it here. One thing though, the artist tried to squeeze everything together because he knew it would be on a ring. It was not necessary, because that's the engraver's job.

Yes, Mantis you are correct. It is the Blofeld Coat of Arms with the boars. Sorry.

    Mantis,

I would still like to get a picture of my achievement of arms to you, however it's been a tough week. My 6 Y.O. daughter went into the hospital Sunday morning with a severe asthma attack. She was in ICU all week and I was with her covering the evening to morning shift while my wife had the day shift. She left ICU Friday evening and was released from the hospital this afternoon.

Hope you are progressing with your project, and I'll get a scan to you just as soon as I am able.

Here is the line drawing of my achivement of arms followed by a close-up of my Tiffany signet ring:

All the elements have meaning in terms of my life. King Neptune represents the god of the sea and the crossing the equator ceremony where I went from a polywog to a shellback. The side facing helmet or helm represents being an officer/gentlemen (front facing represents royalty). The Seahorse supporters are taken form the Merchant Marine Expeditionary medal for serving as a civilian mariner in support of U.S. and international coalition military forces during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The three bezants also have meaning apart from Bond's arms. Bezants are symbolic of the gold coins of Byzantium which represents trade. The Merchant Marine is responsible for shipping cargo, military or otherwise all over the world and is part and parcel of trade. The shield with the fouled anchor represents the U.S. Maritime Service and pays hommage to the civilian mariners who have been involved in every war the United States has ever fought in since 1775.
