I can't access AJB at college

( I was sure I posted this a couple of days ago, but I can't see it, must have been a fault )

At college, I can't seem to access AJB. However, rather than a 'site blocked' pop-up, I see the "forums temporarily unavailable" screen, so i believe my college hasn't actually blocked the site.

A friend of mine was recently blocked from AJB for messing around and I think he now also sees the 'unavailable' screen at home. His house and my college are very close. Could it be that AJB has blocked his IP and also affected the college?

Indeed - my extreme dedication to my study obviously led me to misplace my own thread!

But I'm unsure whether its blocked or not - every site that the college has blocked brings up an "access denied" screen. I see the screen that is only visible when AJB is under maintenance.

The reason I make the link between this and my friend's blocking from AJB is because, as soon as the mods kicked him off, he could only see the 'maintenance' screen. Is a link feasible?

Is it possible that the server at the college used to access the internet shares an IP with a blocked AJB member (your friend, perhaps?)

The entire college may be suffering the repurcussions of one misguided internet user.

This is what I'm inclined to think

Can anything be done to amend this? I'm pretty certain my imbecilic 'friend' won't be returning, he had his fun |)

You could say to the College's Administrators that you would like to access the site and that you are curently not able to because of the possibility that your friend c*cked the site up for everyone to use.

They may be able to reset the cache and this weill enable all users to hopefully access the site with no problems.

It sounds to me that the IP address is blocked at the site level. If IEU2D can access the 'forums unavailable' screen, then it appears that the domain isn't being blocked by the college, but rather that IEU2D's computer is being mistaken by AJB as an unwanted guest.

SiCo may have a solution.

Any chance it's because it's got 'Casino' as in Royale knocking about on the site? I once tried to access Casino Royale on the imdb at a library and got denied, cos it's gambling... managed to get thru by clicking on Daniel Craig on imdb though...
