:)) You're right. Affleck's a sicko, he would take his time, but Damon would just end it right away.

    Donner kebob, (kebab?).

Ed Wood. One of Burton's very best films and a love-letter to hopeless enthusiasm. I'm glad that Burton and writer Scott Alexander gave the film the Hollywood ending that Wood never got in real life.

Which French filmmaker? Luc Besson or Jean-Pierre Melville.
  • DrMaybeDrMaybe Posts: 204MI6 Agent
Besson, stylish without the usual Gaelic self-pretentions.

Dude, you must mean Gallic. If he was Gaelic he would be a mad Scottish islander talking in heedrum hodrum language and drinking whisky straight from a keg.

    Gotta be SuperVixens.

Oh how I missed out on those 70's girls. :# Wrong age-group.

    Ingrid Pitt.

Next: Nina Simone, or Ella Fitzgerald?
  • DrMaybeDrMaybe Posts: 204MI6 Agent
Good pick. Berger tended to be on the plump side, but was outstanding in When Women had Tails, but Pitt was classic shwank! At least.....back then.

Nina Simone, as Ella and her skat were hard on both the ears and eyes.

    Wint

    or

    Kidd?

    Annie Hall or Manhattan?

Well, Dan-no old bean, it seems that no one talks about much here, unless it pre-existed as a comic book, so I guess I'll take the next pick. By the way, I would have picked Glover too, as he seemed to be the only one of the pair that had any kind of career after DAF.

Not big on Allen(really haven't watched any of his propaganda since Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex...) but I'd probably pick Annie Hall only because Diane Keaton is pleasing to the eye.

Last of the Mohicans. (I've never seen watched Lexx. Speaking of which, when you refer to obscure or ultra-geeky shows, JD, it would really help those of us who haven't watched the shows if you mention the titles. ;) )

Next: 'Mainstream' Cinema or 'Arthouse' Cinema? (I will leave it to you to determine which films fit which category. I personally would pick 'Mainstream' Cinema without any hesitation, but don't let that influence you. :v)

Who's the better Starbuck? Dirk Benedict from the 70's version of Battlestar Galactica, or Katie Sackhoff from the modern version?
  • TonyDPTonyDP Inside the MonolithPosts: 4,307MI6 Agent
Dirk Benedict (for me, Sackhoff's Starbuck is a little too complex for her own good).

Well, I don't think that arthouse films are less 'popcorny.' Well, maybe, but they are certainly not superior. I actually chose this question because I saw an arthouse film earlier this week (Vivre sa vie) and I was reminded why I dislike certain arthouse films so much (self-indulgent, pretentious etc.. 8-))
