This looks to be a fun thread and I will be popping in often to check up on it.

So far, I really like Tracy's white dress she wore in the casino. I also ADORE Vesper's jewelery (more like covet, and to buy actual is so damn expensive!!! X-( )

I also thought you might enjoy reading what Times Online thinks about Bond fashion:

Hi there!! :D

Wow, that is one VERY entertaining Times article, right for us Bond girls! :x

Since Pam Bouvier and Honey Rider are my favourite Bond girls (and well, I like Lupe too because I found the LTK style absolutely perfect), and since I WILL be Moneypenny when Henry Cavill takes over as Bond, I guess I also very much agree with the list :)) :))

I will quote this also, for those interested:
Given Roberto Cavalli’s involvement in the casino outfits you can already see the formula: sleek, sexy and sculpted.

Now I understand why I didn't like Vesper's style one bit. As an Italian, I HATE Cavalli and his fashion. Cheap, obvious, and often vulgar. I am a Valentino and Armani Italian (well like most fashion-addicted Italians :))), Cavalli really does NOT do it for me. And to me it indicates the lack of class Bond is dealing with. A Bond girl wearing Italian designers should definitely wear nightgowns by Valentino, Armani or Versace for a more provocative style.. but never, under any circumstance, should she wear Cavalli. That is for the nouveau-riche, not for Bond girls.

This also explains why I much preferred Caterina Murino's style to Vesper's. La Perla (hyper classy Italian lingerie/swimwear) and a custom-made dress from an unknown designer. That clearly being unknown made the dress to be a Bond girl dress and not a statement about their brand. I don't know why I was under the assumption that Green wore mostly Dior stuff. I think it's probably because they flooded the magazines with her advertising the Dior perfume, so much I got sick and tired of seeing her face.. surely my dislike for her performance as Vesper didn't help :)) :))

Anyway, the jewelry I did like too domin007. And yeah, as you say... fake LOL Or the insurance prices would've sky-rocketed! :)) :)). I found some of the jewelry to be a tad too "heavy" at times.. but some other pieces I did like.

I am definitely more for a fresher, more modern and far less baroque style. A la Pam Bouvier and Honey Rider. Or Lupe Sanchez. Damn I still don't know who made that Lupe dress! :( or the other blue one Pam Bouvier wears in the final scene, which I also love!

Well that explains a lot .... I've never really liked Cavelli ... but thats more down to the fact that Victoria Beckham has always championed him and that puts me off straight away ... I've always liked the stylings of Chanel but my favourite designer is Lindka Cierack. Her designs are so classic and look simple but there not! I met her at a luncheon not so long ago and she had brought many of her dresses with her. They were amazing and the detail was unbelievable. She's probably better known for her wedding dresses. I think I may have to remarry my husband just to wear one :))

She could produce some fantasic chic dresses for a Bond girl.

This is my first time posting in this thread, so please, be nice to me, :D but one of my favourite dresses was the one that Honey Rider wore when she and Bond met Dr No. Was that indeed a great dress or should I just acknowledge that I don't know anything about fashion? ;%

Absolutely LOVE those designs Lady Rose. I am not familiar with the stylist but I definitely really like what I saw on that website, and for sure it's the chic style a Bond girl should have. A bit like Ann Taylor style, but made sexier for evening dresses. Completely with you on this one :D

Cavalli is just one of the cheapest points of Italian fashion as far as I'm concerned. I have seen a couple of designs of his that I liked (A couple, over probably thousands!!) but his style, cuts, all the rest, are simply the representation of non-chic for me. Surely some women wear his dresses well, I just don't happen to be one of those who would want to wear one (aside as I said from a couple of them I saw that looked nice).

Maybe I'm too tied to the classic concept of style.. or maybe I'm just being a snob :)) :)) But I really dislike his designs/style. I love that stylist you proposed Lady Rose, let's write to the Broccolis, quick!! :D

Hi Dan! I'm not sure I remember the outfit well, but if it's the one I have in mind, then that was a really nice outfit. Is the one you're talking about the one she wears right after they're taken to the "cave" and she goes around barefoot?? When they have dinner?

Oh and I found a link to at least the top of the Pam Bouvier turquoise/blue dress at the end of LTK that I so love :D

The one I'm referring to was the sundress that she was given to wear at Dr No's headquarters. It was a blueish colour.

She's been around for a long time but she doesn't produce for the masses .... when I saw her she said she designs for the individual client.

She's most famous for designing the wedding dress for Sarah Ferguson when she married Prince Andrew.

Hear hear.. I didn't know about the Sarah Ferguson dress. Can't remember now but I don't think I was particularly keen on THAT specific one.. I don't remember anything Sarah Ferguson wore while in court striking me as particularly nice either :)) :)) Afterwards though she got MUCH better. After divorcing Andrew I mean. I used to meet her in Milan at my old office building as some of the charities she worked with had their headquarters there. And she was always chic and smily.

So back to the stylist.... she only designs for the client, well that's great. Let's tell her she needs to design for THE 21st century Bond Girl, in order to recover the actual Bond Girl style! :D

Thanks for the heads up about her Lady Rose, I really like her designs. I pretty much hated Sarah's wedding gown, but these are gorgeous! There are a couple dresses in the Summer 08 collection I would love to try on! I like that blazer too.

Now Alessandra, I have another mission for you! I know you aren't a fan of Giada's, but I watch her all the time. She went to Rome a while ago and went to a shoe store where the shoemaker measures your feet and custom designs the shoe you want to fit your foot perfectly! Granted they were $500, but perfection has a price! :)) :o I can never make out the name of the store when she is there. I found a really short clip on YouTube, it's only 39 seconds long, the jeweled shoe she tries on I am dying for! I have looked for a similar style, and can never find anything I love as much as this pair she tries on and had made there. I pause the video to get a longer look at it! :))

Next time I'm in Rome, I'm so there! :)) I have to have that shoe! Have you ever heard of this shop?

Ugh, the woman who pretends she's the top of Italian cooking when she's never done that before going to the US (and I guarantee you NOBODY knows her here!!!), now she also plays stylist.

Here Monique, this is the website for the shoemaker:

http://www.dalco-roma.com/index.php?l=en

Have fun! And no it's not a famous brand at all. Also for that price, you can basically have SERGIO ROSSI make shoes for you... around 400 euros is what you pay for making them produce a pair from their collection if it's sold out or something, specifically for you. So really....

About the jeweled sandal, there's PLENTY of stuff like that here, come over and you'll buy a fantastic pair for 200 euros TOPS. 200 euros means top quality sandal, not just a random sandal. I prefer mine anyway (I've got various pairs). And one I wore in Monte Carlo at a ball last summer, handmade as well, I paid 120 euros or so because it was on sale... trust me, come over and I'll tak you shopping for that type of sandal, and you'll have a much better deal! :D

I'm in love with one of the Sergio Rossi models from this summer, and now it's the time to go get it since it's sales time here.. I'm DROOLING at the mere idea. It's a jeweled sandal in a sort of luminescent navy bue. VERY high stiletto heel. VERY Bond girl style actually! They should use it in the movie, a Bond girl needs to be able to escape perils in 11 cm stiletto heels! :))

Here:

http://www.sergiorossi.com/int/it/collection/col_women.aspx

There's an almost invisible grey arrow on the right side of the screen... just click on it until it gets to the fourth screen. The sandal I want is the jeweled one in the middle in navy blue. to DIE for. They have it online for sale in the US version of the site, but it's in black and not nearly as nice. over $400 for the SALE price, eek! Importing for you guys is expensive as hell!

Anyway this is definitely a Bond Girl type of sandal. I wonder if Eva Green can walk in it... somehow I doubt it. But Pam Bouvier or Lupe would no doubt be up to task. Heck even Teri Hatcher would be... :D

I have had a look at the whole site of Giada's beloved designer, and those shoes are definitely NOT worth what they cost. The design is really nothing special.. some of them are really "Old Roman society good lady" type of shoes :)) You'd be much better off buying Lerre, Adriana V. Campanile or of course Sergio Rossi shoes. Trust me on this one, I am a MANIAC for luxury shoes! Bond Girls have got NOTHING on me in this department! Come on over Eva Green, and I'll crush you with my Gucci stilettos just like Xania Onatopp would do! :))

Thanks for the info Alessandra! I'm glad to finally have the name and website! Although I was a little disappointed in their current styles! They don't have anything like my beloved Giada jewel sandal! I definitely think I do need to come to Italy for some shoe shopping though!

Trust me, I have looked everywhere for a pair like that, there are lots of ones that sort of resemble it, but never the same! I tried on a pair of Jimmy Choo's that were kind of similiar, but they just weren't as sexy. I think I like the dangle of the jewels on the Dal-Co ones and the way they move. Most jeweled stilettos have them sewn in, not resting on the bare foot like those do. Sigh...

I really liked the Sergio Rossi ones you showed me! That navy blue sandal is really gorgeous! I would love to see a foot in it, I bet it looks even better. And the fact that they are custom too is so cool. I love the pairs on either side of the one you like as well! Those turquoise pieces that drape down are really pretty. See..I like the dangle! :)) That black pair on the first page, with the square crystals? I have a pair that look exactly like them, a knock off version apparently, as I got them in a boutique in Maui! :)) They weren't cheap either! :)) I'm glad to know about this site, I could look at it for hours! :D Thanks again!

:)) :)) :))

Shoes and handbags are my absolute obsession... yes, kind of alien! :)) :))

I haven't forgotten about Murino's La Perla bikini by the way.. I asked one of the La Perla managers if he can get me the name/ref number of the model so we can look for it! :D

Moniiiique!!! Oh my God, we must be shoe twins! :)) About the dingling of the jewel.. I wouldn't be so sure that dingles once the shoe is finished, that looked like a test to me? But anyway I forgot , if you like that type of shoe, then you should definitely have a look at Giuseppe Zanotti design as well... Great jeweled sandals! (very expensive, but those never come cheap)

http://www.giuseppe-zanotti-design.com/

I didn't even know he designs for Vicini now (that's another big Italian brand, though I'm not fond of Vicini... find those pretty vulgar at times.. but Zanotti has some GREAT ones). I could only locate the fall winter collection on the official website, but if you shop around the internet, you're for sure gonna find some of his sandals! :D He is the one who designed some of the jeweled sandals for "Sex And The City" (the movie). :D

Glad you like Sergio Rossi! It's a VERY famous brand, like Prada or Gucci... I have a couple of pairs of his shoes, but one is spring and the other is a winter shoe. I'm absolutely in LOVE with that navy blue sandal, I think it'd look perfect IF I WORE IT! :)) :)) I promise if you come over I will take you to the Sergio Rossi stores/outlets :D

Back to us, we need to get a Bond girl in a pair of Sergio Rossi PRONTO! And I still want to know who Lupe's sandals were from. Simple and everyday chic... loved them! :D

I'm holding you to that! What could be better than an Italian tour guide! Forget the scenery, I want to see the shoes! :)) Just kidding, I want to see both! ;) About Giadas dangling jewel, I actually met her at a Trade Show last year and asked her about the shoes!! ( Obsessed much? :)) ) She said she had only wore them twice, but they were extremely comfortable! The one she tried on in the store was a finished sample, that's why I'm pretty sure the jewels move a bit. Hers were made a month later. I know you can't stand her...sorry! :)) I love her though.

I have heard of Zanotti! His designs are really interesting. He did the fish bone sandal for Sex And The City movie...right? That shoe was so cool! Speaking of Sex and The City movie shoes, did you like this Jimmy Choo? http://www.jimmychoo.com/pws/images/catalogue/products/081ATLASPEP/081ATLASPEP_medium_fr_Black.jpg

I think she wore it in silver, but I like the black better! Pretty shoe!

Alessandra, I don't think Vesper wore Dior - I'm pretty sure her wardrobe was all Versace. I could be wrong, but I remember reading that many of her outfits (maybe not all of her dresses) were Versace. Her sunglasses certainly were, anyway.

According to wardrobe reporting, most were Cavalli, not Versace. And they really do look Cavalli style... I'm sure she may have worn some Versace, but the story was clear in saying that most of what she wore was Cavalli. Which also explained my dislike for her style as I LOATHE Cavalli. :)) :))

And yes, I was DEFINITELY mistaken thinking she wore Dior, but that was influenced I guess by the fact Eva Green was every-freaking-where in Dior ads for perfumes over here :O

OK then it's a deal! Bond Girl meeting in Italy, namely in Milan at the Sergio Rossi shop (and well, I don't need to explain that Gucci, Prada and all the others are nearby, right? :)))

LOL!! I don't think Sergio named the shoes Alessandra after me, but I sure will take the credit :)) :))

Well there's no shame in not knowing, what matters is getting to know! So seems like the Bond girl style did a good service here! Boots are great, shoes are great.

And Lady Rose make no mistake, I am obsessed with handbags as well. I have quite a few Prada ones in so many different colours.. and only one Louis Vuitton as I don't like to have everyone's bag :)) The one I have is from the collection of 3-4 years ago when he did all those bags WITHOUT the infamous logo.. it's a butter color, square and flat. Very chic.. and very unusual for Louis Vuitton.

I really am a maniac for handbags, and they must absolutely match my shoes :D And I like them quite small, not big. But I love one of the new Tod's big ones.. speaking of, I should bring you ladies to Tod's as well. That's for the working Bond Girl or Moneypenny look. Most think Tod's is loafers but I only have high-heeled shoes from Tod's! Not ONE pair of loafers :)) And their high-heeled shoes are great. Look great, comfortable, and you can wear both at the office and to go out. Totally worth the price. And the handbags?? To die for! :v

So we're Bond girls on a mission: style outlook! :)) :))

Monique, I find that Choo shoe quite.. peculiar. I think I'd prefer it in silver though... And the one problem I have with it is that it looks extremely uncomfortable :O I bought a pair of gorgeous Stuart Weitzman (well two pairs, but only one high heeled, the other was a ballerina flat) last year in NYC.... they're EXTREMELY high (11 cm heel.. stiletto-lie) and the problem I have with them is that unlike the Italian ones I have, they are a bit uncomfortable (too tight on the sides). BUT nevertheless I walked around NYC AND danced in them... now I think I deserve a Bond girl medal for this! :)) :))

I have one Loius Vitton bag,a few years old,not a logo to be seen, plain black ... :)) :)) ... But I can still use it because its classic. Its so true about buying one decent piece ...

I bought a Burberry bag last year that's also plain black with no logo's which I love... I seem to be missing the point :))

Burberry have a few nice pieces once you get away from the check. I fell in love with this bag when I was in Spain a few weeks ago but I couldn't convince my Hubby that it would make a great holiday souvenir

TOD's I love but dont own and Mulberry have a special place in my heart (purse and bag).I also have one bag by Tanner Krolle, which has been a work horse over the years. This is not to mention the countless 'knock about' bags I pick up along the way.

The best thing about bags is they never get too small for you :))

So we took a long time to finish OHMSS (so that makes it 6 films I've seen so far) and I must say I love Tracy! She can pull off just about anything! Like when she was in Piz Gloria wearing that black outfit with fur - who can pull that off??! I see a lot of girls here in New Zealand who try...:( ick.
Also, just have to say I love the wedding band for Tracy and her wedding dress/hair style. I've always enjoyed the simple "nature" style, elegant natural beauty.

I hope you don't mind if I join in here, ladies :) I'm afraid it's been a long time since I last logged on.

I absolutely love Diana Rigg's style in general, and I think some of the more trendy 60's fashion elements that we see in Tracy's wardrobe were inspired by what Rigg wore as Emma Peel on the Avengers.

My favorite Bond girl wardrobe, though, has to belong to Domino Derval. I envy her swimsuit collection, especially that black and white number.

I spent ages trying to find Vesper's Algerian love knot necklace and managed to find a pretty nice copy here. Unfortunately as a student it's out of my budget, but it was much more affordable than Sophie Harley's =love_knot&filter[]=original_LoveKnot&id=733&image=007LK]gorgeous design.

Ah..handbags, my other obsession! I don't have any Louis, but I have quite a few Coach, which lately I feel have really gone down hill in value. When the leather was gorgeous and butter like, I didn't mind paying a lot for it, but now they too have gotten too familiar with the vinyl, and I feel it cheapened their look. Their warranty isn't anywhere what it used to be also, that lifetime thing isn't the case anymore. I do have one Chanel, which I treasure and a Prada tote that I love too!

That Burberry is so pretty Lady Rose!

And those boots you linked up thread were nice too! Now that Fall is around the corner, I'm starting to look for boots, which I love as much as sandals! I'm hopeless. :))

I really love the love knot as well, although nothing looks as good as the original, which I am soooo wanting!! Although it's WAY out of price range. But I say, if you're going to go Bond, go Bond allt he way and get the real thing - check it out here to see the detail: http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/index_accessories.php?m=ac&g=ac012

Just thought I would bump this thread....

Anyway, not sure if you girls have seen the new fragrance that is out...there is a thread to it
here

I've bought it...could smell awful, but then again, it could smell really nice....have to wait and see (but it's the compact that really sold it! :D )

It's a fantastic idea for a fragrance! I'm surprised it hasn't been done already. I only wish it was Jo Malone making it though! :D

You'll have to let us know how the scent is. The bottle design itself is okay, I can see where they were going with it. If it were a pricier fragrance, the bottle could have been more sophisticated and sexy. Like I said though, great idea for a tie in. And it's about time there are some 007 products just for the girls!

Its always amazed me that there has been so little available to us.

Quite like the bottle, a bit Jean Paul Gaultier'ish.

Reviews please ladies when/if you buy

I got my package today...and I have to say I'm really pleased.

The makeup bag is small...but perfect for an evening bag...the mirror is nice and comes in a velvet pouch...(it has no cover, so this stops it from getting scratched) and the perfume is different.

The bottle is sleek....and the box it comes in is really nice...silver with the gunbarrel and "Bond Girl 007" in the centre.

The scent is floral, but not sickly...and the sandlewood is sublte...almost orangy...it's nice. Could easily be worn as day or night scent...I am impressed...especially as it was so reasonable.

So one happy Bond Girl here...:007)

Are you honestly of the opinion, that we are watching your sandals when giving you ratings in terms of sexyness? ;%

But this thread is so much fun to read. It's like 4 aliens sitting around a table and talking in a language, which I'll never understand ;)

Hello ladies. (Bows head) I know what you mean Bondtoys, thankfully as I used to work in clothing retail, and I am a sci-fi fan, I have some understanding of the way it works. - Its nice to have inside intel on these things! ;)

Personally I like a woman who can look sophisticated and sexy without flaunting it. I actually liked the look of Vesper in CR, but it depends on the woman as much as the dress, and the accesories. - I also take a risk by saying what I think!

Personal Highlights: Barbera Bach, Teri Hatcher and Caterina Murino in their respective evening dresses.

Special mention of Honour Blackman as Pussy Galore. Who knew Gold lam'e waistocats could be so sexy?

I agree that Pam Bouvier's on screen makeover is effective. Especially as she shows that her more practical look is sexy and classy as well. Again its the mixture of the hair and the clothes.

By the way - does this mean we may get some makeover / fashion show snapshots in here? :007)
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
