R.Sterling, since you clearly don't seem to understand the purpose of this thread in the slightest, and are here to insult us girls having a fun time (albeit in a more subtle way than Ricardo R. did, but you're still him), you're kindly asked to be so decent as to leave on your own. Either do that or just follow the thread topic like everyone else does. Otherwise I will have the mods intervene.
If you are to post in this thread, this IS about outfits and looks and it's called BOND GIRL STYLE WATERCOOLER exactly for that purpose. We WILL exactly judge the outfits and the make up, among other things. You're clearly not interested in that, so you have no place posting in here.
And since Eva Green in particular, but Gemma Arterton and others as well, had some tragically bad outfits on the red carpet, we will talk about those. There is absolutely nothing childish about it, it's called fashion sense. A thing women in particular judge and evaluate. People who are actors WILL be judged for their looks just as much as they are for their talent. They WILL be judged for what they wear because that is part of their job as actors, to appear. They choose this job exactly to appear. There are no actors or models in here, hence why our photos and outfits aren't publicly dissected. Again, stop trying to hijack this thread and dissing it and what has been discussed on it so far. I have been patient and kind so far but enough is enough.
Here I am! I think Sophie was one of the most gorgeous Bond girls!! Too bad her wardrobe didn't do her justice! That's the 90's for you! That outfit was a bit odd... I certainly wouldn't call her irrelevant though, she was far too alluring for that! I loved Claudine too though! French women have done Bond proud!
Monique! Absolutely true. I agree Sophie is beautiful. The outfits (other than the skiing one) definitely didn't do her justice. But, I can see why Bondtoys or others would not see the appeal. I think it's one of those characters you either "click" with or just don't. And the same applies to Sophie. I've never heard anyone call her ugly of course, there's just this "she's beautiful" or this "does nothing for me" reaction as far as I can tell. Claudine was heavenly!
I am with Pen on the outfit in the photo though.. I never quite understood the purpose of it, and it's definitely not an outfit I like. And yeah, those shoes?
Oh and Ale, I got a gorgeous Coach bag for Christmas. What are you carrying these days? That is my other weakness, handbags!
I LOVE Coach bags, have one myself from last year that I love. I'm carrying Prada, like a good Italian should hahah. Prada bags are my big weakness. I love them, especially the fabric ones.
Rainier Those photos of Eva Green really illustrate the point. Girl really can't pick a dress that flatters her in real life. As far as the makeup... that's just beyond bad. She could be pretty if she learnt how to make good use of it, but she clearly doesn't know how to. It's a real shame.
Bondtoys, your wife has impeccable taste And yeah you've been good, surely? Otherwise she would have slapped you? )

It may come as a shock to you but you do not own this thread nor these boards.
I click on active topics, something catches my eye and I reply- like I did a couple of hours ago to SilentSpy- not to you- when he mentioned Miss Green and her tendency to use outfits/make-up (the topic of this thread) to play a role in public.
I agreed and confirmed.
My second reply went out to Rainier Wolfcastle because yes, I find it indeed a little childish to post pictures like that to drive home a point.
If I remember right, the last picture you posted was of Madame Marceau- a very tasteful and well shot photo on which she looked gorgeous.
Insulting us girls?
You start "to hear voices", Alessandra, so to speak.
I get the impression though that this thread is rather intended to not judge outfits in general but to solely bash them.
If that's the true topic of this thread, dear, then I am indeed in the "wrong thread".
I'll ignore the Ricardo R. part.
That truly gets tiresome.

I've seen angels fall from blinding heights.
But you yourself are nothing so divine.
Yes, well put indeed. I'm very well aware that nobody owns anything. I'm also very well aware you're supposed to be on topic in a thread. That's part of the rules of the forum. I'm also very well aware you can't bash other people, and calling them childish is definitely bashing. So if someone hasn't respected the rules of the forum and of civil talking, that is you R. Sterling. Again, this is most definitely a topic to judge outfits among other things. If they have bad ones, well too bad, we won't call them good when they are bad.
Many of the Bond girl actresses don't have the ability to pick outfits that flatter them in real life. Or make-up even in some cases (like Eva Green). It's certainly not our fault ) This is a thread that was open for us girls to be able to discuss in girly fashion everything Bond-style related. So that's the topic. Since you clearly don't seem interested in that topic at all, and actually bash others for daring to post what weren't bad photos at all by the way, then by your own statements the topic doesn't interest you at all (and again, you also bash those who post about it by calling them childish). That's about disregarding basic forum rules, and it's nothing about owning anything. So, if you are to post here, then be aware of the fact the thread IS about style, makeup and all that. Those will be judged and talked about in here because that's what the thread topic is about. We did give thumbs up to good outfits. They just don't happen to belong to Eva Green or Gemma Arterton, who are both pretty much a fashion disaster on the red carpet. In Green's case, make up disaster as well. And we're not going to say they're well-dressed or wear good make up when they don't. It's as simple as that.
"Are we on coms?" (if you don't know where this is from... you've missed some really good stuff! )
There's a slight difference between calling an action "a little childish" and the person itself.
I'm notorious for the occasional childish action myself in real life, doesn't make me a childish person though.
Anyway, we are going in circles and these are small boards, Alessandra, we *will* run into each other sooner or later again; how about we just ignore each other and be done with it?
I tried already, trust me there
If that doesn't work for you, let's take it to PMs where we can duke it out til Judgement Day or come to another conclusion- out of the public eye that tends to worsen cases like these.
Cheers!

My my, weren't the last 15 odd postings oh so refreshing. All that comes to mind is 007's comment in Thunderball (from memory), "you are an animal and should be locked up in a cage." I direct that to no one in particular, really. I just enjoyed the fun-filled banter that occurred over Marceau and Eva. All done in the nature of good clean fun, right?
So to keep to the nature of the Watercooler thread, who would you consider the best-dressed Bond girl. I mean the one that consistently hit the style and fashion target in the bullseye. I would enter my opinion, but it is not in my area of expertise. So - I will see what you all have to say before I enter my opinion.

The problem with that is that so many of the Bond girls where victims of the era they were filmed in.
(Bit like Bond on occasion. Yes Sir Rog, I do mean you !!! ) Therefore I can only judge on what I feel has stood the test of time.

She also landed Richard Gere as a husband. ) While he's not my cup of tea, I think for a lot of the female population that definitely spells good taste )
In an ideal world, my favorite Bond girl would be Michelle Pfeiffer. But she never was one and then she became too serious an actress and too big a name to play a Bond girl. But, I think she is beauty and class personified. The only one I can think of as truly classy and beautiful, together with Ashley Judd, among nowadays actresses.
Then of course if we speak in absolute terms, nobody can compare to Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Jackie Kennedy in my opinion. They are the everlasting benchmark of elegance, class and beauty for me.

Definately Tanya Roberts. :x A quarter of a century ago - oh my god, am I really that old? - I couldn't get enough of her when she wore those classy, elegant dresses in The Beastmaster and Sheena:
Oh, another beautiful Bond girl. I had forgotten about Tanya Roberts. Why do they have all this trouble finding really beautiful AND classy ones nowadays? She was also one of the Charlie's Angels for a short period of time... today's news since ABC announced they're re-making the show Us girls will have quite a lot to say about it, given how classy they were back in the day, so if they don't keep that in the new concept (Plus the beauty, obviously)... Hmm, Charlie's Angels was great back then but I find it very disappointig that every success from ages ago have to be remade nowadays. Is there so little creativity in the business? The Charlie's Angels films were rather bad, and a new series will be more of the same.
I think I am the only one who doesn't really care about Bianchi (except my beautiful celeste Bianchi bike). I find her not very interesting as a character in FRWL; attractive; but rather bland and not sexy, as a good (Bond) girl should be. Same as Lois Chiles who I find very attractive but not sexy enough. But maybe that makes her more convincing as a scientist than Tanya Roberts or Denise Richards - hm, I know what I want more in a Bond film. :v

I’ve always thought that Eva Green was rather plain to be a Bond girl.
Yeah that's my idea as well. I by no means find her anywhere near unattractive. Just plain. She could be much better if she had more fashion sense not to mention a good make-up artist and a good stylist... but I've never seen her as anything all that special. And for Vesper I really just never thought she fit the part. But, again, not saying she can't act or she isn't an attractive girl. Just not anything special for me.

She was always my favorite as well! Loved her. And she still is a beautiful woman. I want them to use Minka Kelly to portray her character in the new series:
I majorly love her, I loved her character Lyla Garrity on "Friday Night Lights" (brilliant show). She'd be perfect to replace Jaclyn Smith as a a new angel. Hm, she could be a Bond girl, too but she's not the super tall model-type. She has a great physique, very proportionate and fit, but she isn't very tall. And she almost always makes great picks for the great carpet, that yes. I love her style!

I don't care much about the story as long as we can see Cameron Diaz in these boys panties :x
Talking about the first Angels, as a boy of 10, I have had a major crush on Jaclyn Smith! ;%
I am pretty sure, that Rick Roberts was fancying Kate Jackson though
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
And that "I'm gonna kick your ass" attitude. Bit too angry there to be Bond-like calm though )
;% )
Of course.
) ) ) ) ) pretty sure you will recover. Or start a duel )
) ) hey we don't all like the same things. We're in average to still keep Daniela Bianchi as the Dalai Lama, at least 90% positive ) It's ok to have the negative 10% as well. And in the end Bond girls need to be convincing as either a good girl Bond wants to be with or a villain girl Bond uses for his purpose, and not much else. You mean the scientist angle is added bonus when convincing, otherwise, well... they better have other arguments? )
I love her style!
don't forget, Alessandra, that Dannyboy is only slightly taller than a Mini Cooper car, so size should not really matter for the next Bond girl
Have never seen Minka, but she seems to be a very good choice to me!

speak for yourself ) - oh, sorry you were meaning height ;% ooops.......

) ) ) ) ) very well-put, Lexi, very well-put )
She's drop-dead gorgeous. And she was on Friday Night Light as a regular for over 3 seasons, so considering that's a show where only people who can actually act work...
She's engaged to NY Yankees super famous player Derek Jeter. I'm quite sure you'll find her Esquire photos more, ahem, enlightening than that first one I posted? ) Here is another one:
She's really beautiful IMO. I'm just not sure they'd pick her, but since she can replace Jaclyn Smith in the new Charlie's Angels, I'm all set ) Still as you said, shouldn't matter too much if she isn't that tall )
