Hey Guys.... a very belated Happy Christmas (sorry, was in Italy for the festive season, and my brother doesn't have internet ) - had a very mixed Christmas.... spent Christmas eve at some German friends of my brothers (and the evening consisted of 6 courses!!! ) ) and then the next day we had some Italians over for Christmas lunch - Turkey of course... even though it seems not the traditiaonal fair.
Hope you guys all had a good day.... and here is to a fab New Year - roll on 2012 -{

glad, that "The gorgeous italian Venus" agrees with me
@Halcon: If you are complimenting a woman, never, I mean NEVER compare her present look with somthing from the past.
It's like throwing sh.t into a fan !
Your compliment would have been much more effective, if you would have told her, that she's probably the most elegant woman in the room/house/building.
Or to modifiy your compliment, tell her, that you did not find any woman on the party, that was as elegant as her.
Things get much easier, when you are married: I am always managing a smile on my wife's face when I tell her: "You're not that ugly today"
) ) ) )
You always forget I have her email :v
so..how did the CEO compliment you? ciao!
He took a good look at my fuchsia silk sandals and said "And those are some GORGEOUS sandals you're wearing!" I explained where he could buy a pair for his girlfriend if he wanted to since it was close to the office. Though same colour wasn't available anymore (I'm still kicking myself for not having bought a second pair in yellow as well... it was a major bargain!). Nobody else in my office ever got such a compliment from him (the guy was quite bizarre and not exactly easy to deal with ) BOND GIRL POWER! ) )
Lexi! Merry belated Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! And Happy New Year to all the watercooler people!
My wish for the new year: for Henry Cavill to become Bond and for Minka Kelly to be his Bond girl. Plus Kate Beckinsale as either Moneypenny or Bond girl (such a beautiful, classy woman, PERFECT Bond girl material! And a decent actress, too).
"Are we on coms?" (if you don't know where this is from... you've missed some really good stuff! )

Hey Alessandra, great to have you back....
You sure are the engine oil of the cooler.... Runs a lot smoother with your viscosity
As for two-tonics, well it's impossible to keep him out of trouble... I'd just shop him and be done with it... I too have his wife's email now :v
Couldn't believe the convo on complimenting a lady.... What is it about our education system that we're still taking lessons on that? Oh boy... No wonder the birth rate is dropping and same sex marriages are all the rage
As to your 2012 wishes, I'm on board now...especially as you've started talking Kate B - she's gorgeous and is putting the history books right - her father died far too young to have achieved all that he should....
Btw, which bbrg CEO was that? Peter Grauer ?...think I've met him too and I see what you mean.... Did u ever meet Tom Secunda? Great guy and the brains behind the model....
And completing the namedropping exercise, ever met Brian Teacher?
Anyway, welcome back and felice anno nuovo e tutti i vostri desideri possono avverarsi !!

Ciao ( or is it chau now? ) :007)
LOL the "how to compliment" manual is just never complete. I very rarely pay compliments and I only do to people I know very well... Far less of a chance to go wrong!! )
Email is a very powerful means, especially when accompanied by the word "wife" ) )
HA! I knew Kate Beckinsale would get the gents' approval. Just like Minka Kelly of course. And needless to say any self-respecting gentleman would approve of Henry Cavill as Bond )
Peter Grauer (whom I have indeed met) was the Chairman and he was a suuuuper nice easy-going guy, very affable and easy to deal with. Reasonable and all, at least during meetings etc that we held when he visited our office in Milan. LOL I'm not talking about him at all. I'm talking about the CEO he had to try and keep under control, Lex Fenwick. I personally never had a problem with him and like I explained I also got that compliment from him. But, I have heard so many horror stories about his behaviour in general in the London office (he was based in London seen as that's the biggest BBG European office and the head office for Europe) that I could write a book! ) He really was a very bizarre type. And, keeping up with his name, he really did look like Lex Luthor ) ) I always laughed thinking about how fitting the comparison was ) I'm glad I just could interpret the character the right way and had exactly the reaction I had expected when I wore those sandals (stiletto heels, needless to say!) )
I have indeed met Tom Secunda as well. Very nice guy. And of course I've met the man himself too (three times actually), Mike Bloomberg. He visited the Milan office once when it still was a very small office so we dealt with him on a very up close and personal level, seen as the office space was quite tight! ) And he came to company parties in Europe, both the summer one and once at the last (and I'm glad I managed to have that experience) super posh Christmas party we had in London for all the European employees. There were headlines on newspapers in England for how much the company spent for that party! (I'm not joking). That was a TRUE James Bond-style party. We even have the same birthday so I exchanged wishes with him for our birthday while he was still with the company and the first year he was the Mayor of NYC as well.
I think that's enough personal info and name dropping, right? )
Now talking about our man James Bond... I may phone the costume designers and let them know about the existence of Tod's and Hogan because apparently they don't and they have put him in a scene with a pair of casual shoes that defining "Hideous" would be far too generous )
Aw, look at the effort to write in Italian! Some mistakes but the meaning comes through Grazie, ed altrettanto a te e tutti quanti i frequentatori del "Watercooler" (thank you and same to you and to all those who hang around the "Watercooler" -{ )
Oh btw this is strictly for the ladies here, my fellow Bond girls, I am about to make a SENSATIONALLY great bargain on a super nice dress... I will post photos tomorrow once all is done!
"Are we on coms?" (if you don't know where this is from... you've missed some really good stuff! )
Minka Kelly...mmmm...i dont know, pretty to look at but not necessarily very interesting...(we can throw her into the 'Christmas batch')
Now Kate Beckinsale ...EXCELLENT choice...THAT is a woman...and you are right, she would add much polish and taste to Henry's Bond.
Hm, I take it you've never seen Friday Night Lights? Or Charlie's Angels (the new version were SHE and the black angel were the only good things... other than hunky Bosley of course ) ) I love Minka Kelly and generally speaking (save a couple missteps) she is VERY well dressed... so a good example of Bond girl.
That said, Kate Beckinsale is definitely more of a woman, well-rounded, grown woman that is, so she'd be the perfect complement to Henry's Bond. Not to mention that way we would have BOTH female AND male audience for the movie guaranteed, no matter what the movie is like ) )
And, for my Bond girls here, I GOT THE DRESS! And a nice little cover up to go on the shoulders (it's strapless, and VERY 50s/60s style). And at a bargain price. I am extremely proud of my Bond girl self ) )
"Are we on coms?" (if you don't know where this is from... you've missed some really good stuff! )
Definitely no lines. NO matter how thin you are, the lines will make your legs look bigger.
Ah, now we're talking. Sir Roger and Kristina Wayborn! And yes, that shot was definitely one of the sexiest Bond scenes ever. It doesn't take much skin to be sexy. It takes attitude. Not showing too much is way sexier than showing it all. That's how I feel anyway. They handled stuff great back then. And Pierce Brosnan has had some of the sexiest Bond scenes ever, as well. Now please don't make me think about that, because it makes me miss him as Bond that much more.
I'm going to focus on what they could do with Henry Cavill as Bond and Kate Beckinsale as Bond girl :v

Hi Alessandra!
(its always a pleasure to discuss these things with you!)
On the money with the sexy 'attitude'. it's so much more enticing, exciting, satisfying, etc. when there is some restraint...
That whole scene with Kristina Wayborn is mesmerizing...(you know, when Bond asks what is that tattoo on the small of her back...and the subsequent escape through the window...)
i remember having a debate with a buddy a loooong time ago (after having gone through some of our hidden stashes of Hugh Hefner's 'reading' material ) ) my conclusion was that women were all the more hotter in lingerie than in their birthday suits. "no way, you're crazy!" was always his response. no matter how convincing my argument!
now...save for the obvious scene with Teri Hatcher, i'm having a hard time remembering such a scene in a Brosnan flick? (The Thomas Crown affair, now THAT was different, I still sigh when i think of Ms. Rene...)
...oh wait a minute...lest i forget...Ms. Marcieu...thnks for the reminder
...oh, now our venus is playing with our heads Bondtoys!...
speaking of...lines or no lines on those stockings?
...and wasn't Kristina Wayborn's shot of her taking her stockings off in Octopussy not one of the sexiest scenes in all of Bond's films??
Pah, I have seen so many stockings in my life, that don't puzzle me
Sorry to disagree with Kristina Wayborn. In my opinion, her play was a bit too vulgar in OP. I find her being too skinny as well. No comparision to Domino Deval, Pam Bouvier and Barbara Bach to mention some of my favourites ;%
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
And Pierce Brosnan has had some of the sexiest Bond scenes ever, as well.
Alessandra, please tell me, that you are not referring to the hotel scene with Teri Hatcher.
I found that pretty pathetic tbh
However I found the ice hotel morning scene with Miranda very sexy....
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
My new catch (my new dress) is not here yet seen as it has been shipped to me yesterday, I should receive it by the end of the week I think. So that's why there's no photo
About Pierce scenes: yes I DO find the Hatcher scene sexy but that's not what I was thinking about, I was thinking about many a scene with Halle Berry (not necessarily sex scenes) and I find the ones with Natalia and Xenia in Goldeneye UBER sexy, even when they're fully clothed. The ones with Sophie Marceau were also super sexy. Agreed about the ice hotel scene with Miranda, that too was super sexy. And It's no secret my favorite contemporary Bond girl is Pam Bouvier. Sexy and refined and gorgeous. But, that said... Pierce remains the one with some of the hottest scenes. It's HIS attitude, not just theirs!
LOL you gentlemen need to be brought back to order here, conversation here must not degenerate (what a nice double entendre for the word LOL).
Anyway, a self-respecting Bond girl looks after her lingerie just as much as she does her clothes... and since Pam Bouvier was wearing La Perla underneath her clothes (remember that scene where they go near the shark tank and she just strips down to her bodysuit? That's a La Perla) she is once again the perfect example of the flawless Bond girl! Xenia Onatopp also had a penchant for lingerie and I'm quite sure that was La Perla as well. Of course Pam Bouvier had fabulous dresses, too.. particularly the famous sequin one that she shortened AND the turquoise strapless ball gown that she's wearing at the end (THEY made her go into the pool with that, I could sue them for unnecessary fashion cruelty!! ) ). So that's the thing, the WHOLE outfit must be classy and perfect. Way to go Pam, way to go!
"Are we on coms?" (if you don't know where this is from... you've missed some really good stuff! )
Pam Bouvier...(very deep and very long sigh... :x )
very impressive that u can tell she was wearing la perla!, it did look like of a very fine quality (even on dvd)
speaking of sexy and lingerie, i once found a cd for what seems to be a soundtrack for the brand 'Aubade', a tango mix of sorts...very sexy and i highly recommend it.
the fact is Ms. Pam just flat out completely seduces us with her style and manner, and that dress in the pool at the end of License to kill to me epitomizes the zenith of 'Miami' fashion of the 80's, a style i'm very fond of (when done right, as ms bouvier did).
LOL! whip us into order Alessandra! we guys dont need much to become degenarated! )
about the Brosnan scenes...its interesting but i've never found Ms. Halle berry to be terribly sexy. (that said, she did look SUPER hot in the scene where she is chasing the korean villian out of the cuban clinic, what with her flowy and flowery dress and gun in hand...)
i just saw TND, (for the Teri shot!), yes, somewhat sexy...but Michele Yeoh was mountains more interesting. she is soo dignified, elegant and sure of herself, and of course, physically she is very beautifull without needing a lot of 'enhancing'...she was underutilized in my opinion as her more sensual attributes were hardly (if any) presented (memoirs of a geshia).
its very interesting to get the perspective of a woman in regards to those scenes with Brosnan. you mentioned it was his attitude that contributed, what about his attitude? how was it different from the other Bonds?
I have a nerdy question. Nametags in coats - ever acceptable? What if it was in an elegant font, or in the form of an email address should the coat be lost? Thinking of myself, not some lady's mink effort.
I have a nerdy question. Nametags in coats - ever acceptable? What if it was in an elegant font, or in the form of an email address should the coat be lost? Thinking of myself, not some lady's mink effort.
Sure, why not? Have them put inside under the main tag (brand tag) so they won't catch the eye immediately but they will be there to be checked in case of need.
Mr H. , Pam Bouvier is indeed one of the finest examples of Bond girls ever, and like I said, for me the best contemporary Bond girl (I mean most recently, excluding Sir Roger and Sir Sean). I'm sure her bodysuit was La Perla because I'm a major fan of the brand and I recognised the collection it was part of ) I think something else may have been from Erès (other great brand, but only for SUPER THIN women.. and I mean super thin, thinner than I am and I am a US size 2... between size 6 and 8 UK). In short, Halle Berry-like LOL She has the perfect body so that Erès orange bikini she was wearing looked STUNNING on her. Unfortunately, seen as their stuff isn't padded at all and generally it doesn't help hide "faults", either you have a perfect body/super slim body or just forget it ) I'm familiar with Aubade. I like some of their stuff. It's a bit too "boring" for me, not edgy and recherché like La Perla but they still do have some good stuff. Bottomline once you try La Perla it's quite difficult to switch to anything else (I do love Victoria's Secret for everyday wearing though).
The turquoise dress is a very classy and classic cocktail dress that could easily be worn nowadays too at an elegant pool party, it was the PERFECT tribute to Bond girl style and perfect for the scene.
I agree about Michelle Yeoh, she really was very sexy and there again, it was her attitude, not just her (of course beautiful) appearance.
Pierce's attitude is one that very few actors/men successfully master (Hugh Jackman is another with the same attitude, and same goes for my dearest Henry Cavill)... he manages to look at a woman in a seductive way and make her feel not just like he wants to take her clothes off, but also like a princess at the same time. It's a quality that an actor especially either has or hasn't, you can't learn it. Pierce has it (and like I said, Hugh and Henry have it, too). It's about managing to STILL be incredibly stylish even when he's about to take the clothes off of a woman, AND once they're in the middle of it, about managing to make HER the centre of attention in the scene, not because of her various stages of undress, but because HE makes her "shine". It's called being an actor's actor. (I'm not joking, this is how actors define fellow actors like Pierce). And not everyone is. Actor's actors are so good they make their co-stars shine when they're in scenes with them. Pierce was definitely the one who displayed this quality most prominently, especially when filming sexy scenes. His attitude, the way he moved around the lady, the way he made her feel entirely special (albeit undressed ) ) that is what made the difference. Sir Roger was similar as well, and Timothy Dalton. Sir Sean had a different style, a little in between. Daniel Craig, I'm sorry, just doesn't have it. He is most definitely a character actor. Focused on creating and conveying his character first and foremost. What is around is at the service of his character, so basically works the opposite way as Pierce and Sir Roger. Is this enough of an explanation? )

Hello Alessandra,
thanks for the comprehensive insight into ... your underwear ;%
I really enjoyed it!
Now seriously you are spot on on Brosnans charm. I have never seen it that way but you are totally right!
I really enjoyed what you have said and I think, it's a great lesson for EVERY man to understand the female psychology a bit better
And well, I said to UNDERSTAND! I did not promise to FOLLOW it! )
You should post this into some threads over in the general James Bond chat, where James Bond actors are only judged by the number of enemies, that they are convingly able to mow down in a movie and Moore and Brosnan always rate on the bottom there -{
Edit: Knowing a bit about asian women I never understoof the fuzz about Michelle Yeoh.
I find her pretty boring and compared to some other asian pearly relatively ugly. And we have to keep in mind, that thiough she played in the Geisha, her role was not really about the attractive one :v
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
well I for one find Michelle Yeoh, Very Attractive. Also she ( I'm trying not to sound too pompos ) brings
a dignity to any role. As the Father of two Daughters given the current trend for Teenage Girl role models
to wear next to nothing and be as Stupid as Possible "Shutup !!!!" , I find Michelle Yeoh a much more
suitable role Model.

I think she's attractive but you're the man. ) If I had to pick, my favorite Asian actess is Lucy Liu. I find her incredibly elegant and beautiful.
About Pierce: the reason why I never posted stuff like this in the main threads is I can't be bothered being sucked into a pointless discussion with certain characters who don't even know what "actor's actor" and "character actor" means and who just and only base their judgment on being Craig fanboys. Of course there are intelligent people in those threads, too that I'd gladly discuss this with but they're sadly the minority. We'd end up not being able to enjoy our conversation because of those who intrude and make it nasty. And I dislike having pointless discussions, so it can stay here. Feel free to use the same "argument" though if you CAN be bothered to discuss it ) And thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed my explanation
Yes, Daniel Craig is a character actor who the studios are currently trying to pass off as a star.
While, ironically, in the 1960s Sean Connery was a star who was trying to pass himself off as a character actor – in his non-Bond roles, that is.
NP, this is one of the smartest insights about the situation back then and now that I've ever read. Absolute truth. It is, indeed, ironic, how Sir Sean's situation and Daniel Craig's are exactly one the opposite of the other.

I will post photos tomorrow once all is done!
...I...the student...still...
Oh, you are not talking about stockings Well.....
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Oh, I'm talking about them, too :v
Now, where are the pics of yopu wearing your new catch? :v
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
...oh, now our venus is playing with our heads Bondtoys!...
speaking of...lines or no lines on those stockings?
...and wasn't Kristina Wayborn's shot of her taking her stockings off in Octopussy not one of the sexiest scenes in all of Bond's films??
Seconded.....
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Alessandra, please tell me, that you are not referring to the hotel scene with Teri Hatcher.
I found that pretty pathetic tbh
However I found the ice hotel morning scene with Miranda very sexy....
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
....that's what the ladies want to hear :v
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
bondtoys-
in fact, Alessandra wrote that, not me...
As for Kristina, well, just think of all the possibilities with someone as light as a feather... :v
Roger Moore 1927-2017
I did not promise to FOLLOW it! )
You should post this into some threads over in the general James Bond chat, where James Bond actors are only judged by the number of enemies, that they are convingly able to mow down in a movie and Moore and Brosnan always rate on the bottom there -{
Edit: Knowing a bit about asian women I never understoof the fuzz about Michelle Yeoh.
I find her pretty boring and compared to some other asian pearly relatively ugly. And we have to keep in mind, that thiough she played in the Geisha, her role was not really about the attractive one :v
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
a dignity to any role. As the Father of two Daughters given the current trend for Teenage Girl role models
to wear next to nothing and be as Stupid as Possible "Shutup !!!!" , I find Michelle Yeoh a much more
suitable role Model.
While, ironically, in the 1960s Sean Connery was a star who was trying to pass himself off as a character actor – in his non-Bond roles, that is.
Roger Moore 1927-2017
NP, this is one of the smartest insights about the situation back then and now that I've ever read. Absolute truth. It is, indeed, ironic, how Sir Sean's situation and Daniel Craig's are exactly one the opposite of the other.
and everytime when I am afraid, that we have a substancial disagreement you come up with something like THIS!
-{ -{ -{
Luci Liu - I can totally agree with you !!!!
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Dont get me started .... I have a 15 year old who thinks The Only Way Is Essex and Big Brother are brilliant .... Oh, I said dont get me started ..... :v :v :v ... Cant bear programmes that celebrate stupidity ....
