Master Replicas News

I am excited to share this news with you on the AJB board first. After several months the silence can be broken that I have been brought on as a Bond Prop Consultant for Master Replicas and their upcoming James Bond Line. Allow me to share the story with you…
Many months ago I was contacted by Master Replicas publicity department after a few references from other collectors and a review of my web site. They wanted to bring on someone that could not only act as a reference check on the details around their releases but also someone who could act as a focus group for viable collectables in this realm. My advertising background and love of Bond seemed to mesh well with them. Today we have a contract together and I have provided them both details, references, and marketing trends of these items (you all have been a part of those trend discussions without even knowing it!).
In the near future I will be doing interviews with key people in the world of Bond props and prototyping as well as general ambassador programs when applicable. In addition I will be the first to receive each Bond prop and will be writing a detailed account of each one- and yes I will need everyone’s help with this because my knowledge is around this COMMUNITY and I owe everything to all of you. Looking at the line up of props they are looking to release, you are all in for incredible surprises but we will also have the chance to INFLUENCE upcoming releases when possible. As well I will try to give you all realistic expectations on release timing etc…such as the Golden Gun, which I have been watching the existing thread with great interest and control. I can say with some credibility that the GG will more than likely be officially released in November rather than October because they want to get the display just right! But it will be released.
So, now just for you AJBers I will give you two teasers: Master Replicas will be releasing a set of JAWS teeth taken right off the EON Archive owned ones. Richard Kiel will be acting as a reference on these because it seems two types were used. The second teaser is that MR is looking to replicate a “MODERN” day Bond prop. Can’t tell you more than that but get excited.

More to come in the future…

    Congratulations Mantis,

I can't wait to see what MR has up it's sleeve for prop replicas. I have been really impressed with the Star Wars lightsaber replicas they put out during the past few years and can only imagine the kind of stuff they have in mind for Bond.

Keep us posted, I can't wait to see what the Golden Gun replica looks like.

Thanks for the congrats, brothers, but I want to stress that this news is for ALL of us...we are essentially going to act as a focus group to shape the through-put of this line....cool stuff!

Hi David ... what can I say .. FANTASTIC NEWS

Brilliant... I am so happy that you are involved with these props...

a chance like this could not have happened to a nicer guy ..

I know that your expert opinions and knowledge of the Bond props will only make the master replicas range far superiour than it was originaly going to be.

I feel a bit bad now ... for speculating about the Master Replicas range being a ''dead in the water'' affair. I suppose it was a bit of impatience on my part. :))

If I can in Anyway, help you out David with your new found props projects, with any information etc .. you know where I am..

I am going to say however.... its about time a fan like yourself was drafted in, to say what the fans want to collect. and give opinions. for once the fans get an input. and not see the kind of re released rubbish that corgi has been giving us for the past 10 years.

I am very excited about the Master Replicas Range... I only hope it is an affordable line of products for the general collector, and not just the big money collectors... However with the Golden Gun being on Amazon at the very very reasonable price that it was... I can't complain.

Once again David I congratulate you, my Good man ... and I know you will do all of us fans and collectors proud.

best wishes .. And Kind Regards to everyone at Master Replicas...

I wish you every success in the future and I hope, it is a long prosperous journey with the Bond props Line.

This is really great news. I am happy for you that you are involved with MasterReplicas. Really a great opportunity David.

By the way, do you also have already exact details about the differences between the Golden Gun SE and the LE?

    Greetings.

    Sounds like fun: well done!

As for a modern prop; it's always fun to speculate! Bond's Aston remote control? His TND phone? The GE piton gun?

Congrats, Mantis, you're living the Bond fan's dream! It reminds me of a GI Joe collector renowned for his passion for the hobby, who was then hired by Hasbro as the creative director for that line...

Anyway, feedback to pass on to Master Collectors is to please...please issue a collector friendly FRWL attache case, friendly in terms of pricepoint and availability (don't keep the edition number too low!) Would $400 (or less) be too unrealistic? :D

This may have been posted elsewhere but MR deal mainly in three editions SE, LE & CE

SE - Signature edition - comes with a double plaque with a description/issue number on one and an actors signature on the other.

LE - Limited edition. The normal issue with a run of 2500 for example

CE - Collectors edition. Occaisionally, budget editions have been issued at a far lower price with no edition number. This happened toward the end of the Star Wars range.

    All the best

Hello Mantis, I posted this question in another thread but just in case you missed it can you include this question on your list. I was wondering which version of the GG is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. Thanks, and congratulations. I think we can all pre-order with more confidence now that we know that you are involved.

I really want to get the SE golden gun, but i've heard a rumour that U.K stockists won't be getting it until the new year at the earliest.

    Seconded.

And congrats, Mantis. How awesome is that? {[]

Thanks all...! Price points have been interesting. I saw the Amazon pre-sale for GG but I know that the listing was premature, as stated by Master Replicas themselves. The release date on those is dependent on many things, not least of which is a decision on how the piece will be displayed.

should be displayed on a red stand in the Mouth of a stuffed Raven Bird :))

Like at the starts of the film .... when Scaramanga slides down the ramp and gets it to shoot the Hit man in the head...

    What a shot.....

Does this mean that the Golden Gun is back in the works? I hope so. In addition to the Golden Gun I like the idea of the FRWL attache case.
