I bought the Topman cardigan and am waiting for it to come in. In the meantime, I was wondering... what size leather buttons would be right?

I got 10 11/16" buttons for $10 or so shipped. That size seemed to me to be generous but not huge. As I think about it more and more though, it seems like 7/8" could be good too.

    What do you guys think?

Yes, i bought a similar grew one from Zara in HK and a black one from Boss. Not sure if these shawl cardigans are all the rage this year, a pure co-incident or a standard classic each year that i have not paid attention in the past until DC sported it in GQ with a pair of selvedge Dunhill jeans and Church's Ryder chukka boots.

Yes, I can confirm Zara has several similar cardigans with shrawl collars in grey or black. We have several Zara stores in Hong Kong and there are large quantities of these in the store.

How much are the Zara cardigans, and if possible pick one up for me.
That's a Smith & Wesson, and you've had your six.

    The Zara ART number is:
    0842/301/800
  • mikeviennamikevienna Posts: 12MI6 Agent
Sorry, I have to correct you, the correct number is: ART: 0842/300/800 (as previously mentioned here). The 301 will get you a very similar model but not the same one. Zara have 3 or 4 very similar shawl cardigans at the moment.

I wonder if it is country dependent on what cardigans are available as well.

For those in the UK, word is Marks and Sparks have their 20% sale on again tomorrow (04.11.08) so if you want the cardi at a discount, jump in!

I just picked up the J. Crew spencer jersey shawl neck cardigan in navy. It's very decent, and on sale right now for about half off the original price.

It seems very versatile. Buttoned up over a dress shirt, it's much like the TF. Unbuttoned over a t-shirt, it reminds me a lot of the one Bond wore in CR.

One bit of advice: Size down! I'm a true L (by American standards), though on the slim side. I had to re-order twice, going from L to M and finally a Small before getting the right fit.

In a rush in the store I saw that GAP (UK) do a shawl cardigan, looked quite chunky - however GAP currently have 30% off all their knitwear for the next couple of days - so may be off interest to someone

I received my M&S cardigan a few days ago. I agree that it is a close match and a great value. It is actually better than I thought it would be. It has a trim fit and is less "chunky" than I thought it would be.

Well, I am still waiting for mine, despite ordering it from the M&S website almost 2 weeks ago!

First they send me an email informing me of delivery on 28 Nov. Then they sent me another email saying that there had been a delay and delivery would be on 1 or 2 Dec. I was off on 1 Dec and nothing came. While I was at work on 2 Dec they attempted delivery but noone was home. They left a card and I have to collect from the depot which is miles away and only open from 8am - 1pm. I am working every day so when the f*** am I supposed to go and fetch it!

Will I ever get this cardigan.....I do hope it's worth the wait!

    Aaagghhh!!!!!! X-(

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.

I see that the M&S shawl cardigan is out of stock, and I have no clue how to access or order from the Zara website. Does anyone know where I could find the Zara cardigan? I think I would need a M or S.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Finally got my cardigan collected form the depot!
Man oh man was it worth the wait! It is superb and a very accurate replica of what Bond wears when he goes to meet Mathis. The quality is superb, heavy yet not overly chunky if you get what I mean.

I can highly recomment this from M&S, even though they have sold out at the moment, be patiend and they will be getting more online soon!

I am also new to the forum and could use some help:

I would love to get my hands on one of the Zara cardigans in medium but no one carries the brand in my neck of the woods. If someone could assist a fellow Bond collector it'd be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have the Kohl's one as well. A bit heavier than the Zara (I was at the NYC Zara this past weekend and NO cardigans). So, for an easy alternative, I recommend it. Besides, goes great with my replica Omegas. {[] :)) :)) :)) :))

Here is the Zara shawl cardigan with the correct buttons (the brown buttons have been taken off).

I'm loving it, will be wearing this at the weekend. You have to admit, with the correct buttons it looks so much nicer:
