Can ANYONE help me obtain one of teh Zara Cardigans? I will make it worth your while
  • DunhillDunhill Posts: 12MI6 Agent
sruzgar, there are not many of those cardigans left in the store in HK. I bought one recently. Not bad for $52 in terms of both the quality and style. Doesn't look like a $52 item for sure when u put it on.

I picked up the J Crew sweater last year and love it, it's really thick and built to last. Funnily enough, I bought it because it bore such a close resemblance to the one that Steve Mcqueen wore in William Claxton's photos, a navy blue shawl collar cardigan with a shaker knit. Daniel Craig copped this look (along with the white jeans and suede chukka boots)from Steve McQueen:

Not the only thing Craig as copied from McQueen. Baracuta G9 made famous by McQueen (and "adapted" by Tom Ford for QoS if you ask me)

    whats your size in inches?

I'm normally a large (42") but had to go for an XL, and even that is fitting.

Yep, I'm normally a 41/42, but the cardigan is quite slim and so I had to get an XL. The L fit me fine, but a little more snug that I wanted, especially around the cuff area with a dress shirt under it. The XL fits a bit better for me, IMHO.

If someone could get me an L or XL Zara, I would appreciate it.

I have a 40 chest. You won't squeeze into an M for sure. L is very snug. XL looks better. I might be able to get my hands on some if they still have them in the store. PM me.

Hmmm, I admit the M cardigan is fitted but certainly not stuffed sausagey. Maybe it contours well...regardless, Simon, take a Large if you can get it. Any port in a storm!

BTW, it would be cool to see everyone who has a version of this sweater take a pic of them wearing it with a white shirt...kind of a cardigan rogues gallery!

I'll post pics of my outfit when I get the last of my stuff.

    What I'm waiting on:

The cardigan I got from Topman (wonderful, by the way) is getting the leather buttons put on right now.

My John White Westbury 2 Chukka Boots are in the mail.

    What I have:

I got the Charles Tyrwhitt sea island cotton white dress shirt and had it altered to fit perfectly.

A pair of J.Crew classic fit bisque chinos altered to fit like the Levi's

My Tom Ford James Bond 007 sunglasses

may i add my thoughts, i bought the M and S cardi and i really wasn't impressed. It seemed slightly off black (almost prupleish) and the material seemed very cheap to me, it fitted beautifully though i must say.

I have also seen the zara one but once i had the ££'s it wasn't left in my size:# i was impressed by this one seemed a much better fabric and i even fell for the buttons!!

maybe the cardi i purcased was a needle in a haystack, you lot seem to love yours!!

Could someone possibly acquire a Large Zara cardigan? I've been to a few US locations, and only found the brown one in the same style. Please PM me.

No store in my home town carries the Zara brand. I would love to have one for a very special event next summer. I'm looking for one in medium. If any one could help I'd really appreciate it. Please pm if you can.

    Thanks.

The Zara version is now down to £19.99 as of Boxing Day. Saw about 5 in Manchester UK in Large, brown and black. Looks very poor quality knit though.

I managed to get the black Marks and Spencers cardigan in the run up to Christmas and thanks to a friend of mine who works for them I was able to get it for the excellent price of £19!

I've worn it a few times and it is a good fit and nice and warm - and I've even had a few compliments about it too!

It'll certainly come in handy when me and Mrs DBS go to Scotland in February.

Following on, I have now bought a large Zara blue shawl collar. It's far superior to the Marks and Spencer one. There was about 4 large in blue in the Trafford Centre store. I am thinking of buying them up.

I would be interested in 1 in a large. It is a lighter weight cardigan or a bulky Murano wool wieght? Also how much were they?

Very plush and the collar looks nice. The navy colour for sure. But the only comment is the body looks quiet long. I have a very similar one in navy from Gieves & Hawk in cashmere. Go for it looks like a very elegant and versatile cardigan to me. I am tempted to get it too. Looks like a great price.

It is 100% cotton, not too bulky and very very well cut. I'd say a medium weight. It looks great to be honest. I'll try and post a picture later today. I've had a few requests to pick them up so it may be worth it. They are £30.
