Is the one in the film black or dark blue? It looks black to me.

I should have let you all know that I was in Miami last week and spent a couple of days at a hotel across a Zara store that had cardigans in L and XL. Unfortunately, I'm back home now.

After taking a look at them, I'll give my take on Zara vs. Topman.

Topman has a higher quality knit and the collar is done better.

    Zara doesn't have the pockets.

Both have a trendy cut. Both need the button replacement.

Topman is $60-$70 more than the Zara.

I found another cardigan option, but only if you are an XL. Calvin Klein has one for $49, and since there is 25% off clearance, it ends up being $36.75.

Hi everyone. I realise i may be a little late to the party re this cardigan, but is there any chance someone could pick one up for me?

I live in Australia and it's summer here now and I can't find any decent similar cardies!

And Zara here only sells women's clothes!

If someone is able to get one, i'm assuming that i am probably a large (L) size... 6ft, slim-medium build asian.

Otherwise, what other online alternative would people recommend? Topshop seem to have some large in stock (http://www.topman.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=17551&storeId=12555&categoryId=138990&parent_category_rn=40350&productId=972005&langId=-1) but everywhere else either does not ship to Australia or is out of stock...

To me that is way too heavyweight for a QoS alternative. In blue, it may be a good CR cardigan alternative.

The M&S is a great CR alternative, especially with a navy Sunspel T-shirt, looks spot on. I have tried wearing it with a white shirt like QoS but the collar is too chunky and it does not look right. Do not know if the topman item is like that.

Anyone get the Calvin Klein cardigan yet? I got an XL with 40% off.

Mine is on the way. This'll make my 2nd Cardigan, opting for the Kohl's one on the first time around. From the photo on the CK site, this appears not as bulky, so we'll see in a few days.

One really shouldn't be wearing the cardigan with the Sunspel polo...

CK website seems to be sold out; anyone else?

Regarding color, I know the Tom Ford is black, but can anyone really justify wearing black with dark brown boots? I just can't do it. Dark blue/navy is better.

I have two from J Crew - the price is right - and really like them although they are a little thicker than the TF. I put the black leather buttons on one, but I'm not sure even that much black is proper (with the brown boots).

Dr. Bond, I thought the same thing about te brown shoes and black top...when I wore this outfit to a friend's party I was actually very self concious. Then I saw a European mag where they were doing this quite a bit...sort of the 'not being a slave to colors and fashion thing'...but still felt similiarly...B-)

A week or so ago, a link was posted for the Calin Klein cardigan. Ordered one, got it a few days ago and am wearing today. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Not at all bulkly, very soft fabric and, humbly speaking, looks awesome. Not sure if more are still in stock, but you can't go wrong with that one.

I agree 100%, the calvin klein cardigan is one of the best out there. I recently got mine and it looks great. I also bought the croft and barrow cardigan from kohl's, a little thicker and looks a little different but looks great too. I highly recommend both these cardigans.

I got my Calvin Klein and love it. Great buy for the money!
  • trs007trs007 AmericaPosts: 102MI6 Agent
I have the Kohl's one, as well. Bought it weeks ago before hearing of the CK. Brand names notwithstanding, the CK one is much nicer, sleeker and more to the spirit of the TF.

So, is the cardigan at the end of CR navy? I may have found a nice option, if anyone is interested in that one as well.
  • DrBondDrBond USAPosts: 110MI6 Agent
I can't seem to find the CK on their website. Did you guys get it in a store?

Nope, ordered it online right around the date the post was made to the link.

I found this navy cardigan online by a company named Cullen. Seems like it would make a nice CR substitute. Cullen Navy Cardigan

I called the Bridgewater and Menlo Park, NJ Zara stores. Apparently the 0842/301/800 number is a sale item at this point (they can't look up stock any further in their system) and apparently something on the order of $25, but neither store thought they had it on any of the sale shelves.

The person I spoke to at Menlo Park did mention that they'd recently sent over 'about 100' presumably excess sweaters to the NYC store, and suggested that other stores in the NYC area were doing the same thing, so that would be the best place to look.

I don't particularly want to trek into the city to check out the stock, but I believe at least one person here mentioned they were in that area. If anyone by any chance does go, I'd be very appreciative of them picking one up for me (please PM me for contact details).

I haven't been able to locate any stills from QoS of DC wearing this cardigan and judging from the posts in this thread this isn’t the one worn in the film. Just wanted to check is that correct.

Don't know if this has been posted before but its also a nice pic of DC's Rolex and strap.

Correct. What he is wearing is not a shawl collar. It appears to be just an ordinary cardigan.

Thanks, I couldn't remember what the one in the film looked like and they have one similar to that worn in the photo at M&S too.

I know there's only a couple of weeks until the DVD comes out but can anyone direct me to any pictures of DC in the actual cardigan.
