One more f**king American chiming in, that comment pi**es me off too. I actually like some Oasis music, but I loathe that kind of ignorant arrogance from anyone. So because Ringo's son was once a band member, he feels qualified to be the British minister of culture? That kind of judgement is just as bad as his.
Hey, thanks, Noel--nevermind that a bunch of f**king Americans have been bankrolling the Bond movies since 1962, and even more of us f**king Americans got tired of your pathetic We're-the-greatest-thing-since-the-Beatles attitude a long, long time ago.
Amen Hardy.
This song is causing almost as much division as the casting of Craig! Musically I find it pretty brilliant mixing old and new, the jolt of it totally works for me. And I agree about the drums, I'm surprised a musician, such as he is, couldn't appreciate the musicality of it. 8-)
I was just listening to this again, It is very faint but you can iear a car roar in it. This could mean the car chase is part of the pre-title sequence.

I wouldn't give what he says a moment's thought- he's an outspoken idiot who rarely thinks about what he says, and for some reason he always seems to get more outspoken when he's got an album coming out soon!
It seems possible that we might hear AWTD in the main soundtrack; yesterday on BBC 6music Arnold was saying that he loved the song and 'even from the first draft': he thought it had a great tone: he's obviously been in on the development of the song so presumably has had time to fit it in with his soundtrack if he felt it right. He said when you see the song in the movie it'll all click in.
He also said that he'd gone 'a certain distance' with Winehouse and Ronson on their Bond song- if he was working on the song that long ago it seems far from impossible that he's been able to work with AWTD.
Plus there's a post on the Film Score Monthly message board saying that:
i can confirm that the song is on the cd release and parts of the song are incorporated into parts of the score where possible. some pieces by jack white are in parts of the film as well. there is less music in the film as the film is shorter than casino royale.
May be worth taking with a pinch of salt, but might be true, you never know.

Good to hear; I hope it works out that way. Be nice if they could work Amy's tune in over the end credits, as with k.d. Lang's excellent 'Surrender' from TND, but it's getting late for that now, I suspect.

Well I've heard the CD single, picked up from my office, and like Hardyboy's view, it seems all back and forth, stop/start. Noisy beginning, then settling down, takes a while and it's that lack of confidence... there's a good song in there trying to get out, but it's padded out with so much stuff, and it's weird that JW's voice is filtered but AK's isn't. It sounds like the sort of music to accompany footage of exploding vehicles on a trailer rather than a song in its own right.

Who was responsible for letting Alicia Keyes have a crack at it?
And who knows how I could commit homicide and get away with it?
