No more Budgie Smugglers!

It appears that Craig will not be wearing the kind of swimming trunk that he wore in CR. :D I came across this article in a local paper (there are some interesting comments about Craig below, so if people are interested in reading the comments, :v the e-mail addrss is http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24370650-2902,00.html)

Anyway, I don't think that the article will break the heart of even the most ardent Craig fan, but I have a feeling that some of you might be interested anyway.

James Bond Daniel Craig gives up the budgie smugglers

007 Daniel Craig has vowed never to wear budgie smugglers on the big screen again, and has exercised to create a different physique for his most recent outing as Bond..

The 40-year-old hunk, who sent pulses racing when he donned fitted blue swim shorts in a beach scene for his first film as the suave British spy in 2006's Casino Royale, is refusing to squeeze into the sexy swimwear again.

"I'm not going to put those trunks on ever again," he said.

Craig also revealed he will not look as toned and muscular in new film Quantum of Solace because of a different exercise regime.

"I trained differently this time," Craig said.

A source added, "Even if he has spent less time in the gym and will be wearing more clothes, Daniel would be hard-pushed to disappoint his female fans."

Craig's six-pack torso has already been on display in publicity shots for the film getting it on in bed scenes with Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko.

Quantum of Solace, which also stars Judi Dench and Jeffrey Wright, has its world premiere on October 29 at London’s Leicester Square. It is released worldwide throughout November.
"He’s a man way out there in the blue, riding on a smile and a shoeshine. And when they start not smiling back—that’s an earthquake. and then you get yourself a couple of spots on your hat, and you’re finished. Nobody dast blame this man. A salesman is got to dream, boy. It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman

Yes, exactly. :)) It's Australian slang for men's swimming briefs that are quite tight-fitting. ;)

Well! Not to criticize Australian slang, Dan, but I once had a budgie (more commonly called a parakeet here), and a less phallic bird you couldn't find! And now all I can envision is some poor sap on the beach, his Speedo lurching hither and thither independent of his pelvis, while the unfortunate bird tries to flap its wings. . .and slash with those sharp talons. . .and bite with that pointed beak. . .

I assume that one of the things that attracted her to you was your modesty? :v

Well...anything that comes out of the British tabs needs to be taken with a large grain of salt as far as truth is concerned. Regarding Craig's physical appearence in QOS, from the snippet I saw in the trailer, he looks to be leaner and more defined but less bulked up than in CR which to me would be more faithful to how Bond is described in the Fleming novels.

You know, I'm not surprised, at all that he will never wear those trunks again...the movie got more reviews over those trunks than anything else. You can't read a review now, about CR without those shorts being mentioned. And I also think, the scene of Craig coming out of the water is one of the most used screen shots too.... (Not that I'm complaining :v )

I think I remember reading an article about how Daniel would be training more for endurance, than strength, and that would of course mean less bulk, and more toned. He was also reported to continue to loose weight during the filming, as his stunts were so physical.

The shots I've seen of him...(especially the torso one...) he is still looking mighty fine to me.

However...I have to comment, Budgie Smugglers....now that is funny! :)) :))
