Mobile/Cell phones question

I'm about to upgrade and about time too. However, is it possible to buy two cell phones with the same telephone number? A nice swanky one (like the QoS Sony Ericsson) then a cheap, nasty one to take to a club, one which could get nicked and it wouldn't be the end of the world. Obv with the same tel number on it?

I believe this wouldn't be possible because, each mobile phone has a unique number assigned to it. You would need a seperate number for the other phone, it's a bit like a car registration plate and that means no-one else can use it/have it other than you.
Hope that makes sense!
2) It is possible to have lines to one handset, (costs more) but you would have to talk to a service provider about call divert if you want to have one number that can divert to a second phone handset. - Even then, it would still require you to get two seperate phone lines, and two numbers. - Usually this kind of thing falls under business deal packages, but it ain't cheap.
Considering the potential costs though, you may be better off just following Lexi's suggestion?
Are all sim cards interchangeable? Could I put a sim from a Sony Erricson into a cheap Nokia?

But you would obviously only be able to use one phone at a time...(as the other phone would have no sim card in it....)
I hope that helps....?
I'd turn off the pricey phone while going out clubbing etc, but could I use the same telephone number on the other cheap phone?

....and yes it is possible...just not quite in the way I said!
Only if the phones are with the same network or the phone is unlocked otherwise,no .... you cant put a T-Mobile sim in a locked Orange Nokia
