    Hi David,

It all depends on what you're good at. The main thing is to have fun with it. Even Stan Winston started somewhere.

I've been making props for about 5 years now. Mainly helmets and weapons. I've never made any 007 props, but am just about to start my medi-pac project. Everyone who does this seems to have a certain niche area they're good at, find it and stick to it.

I can use fibreglass, resin, silicone and can sculpt objects reasonably well. But could never do a face or head.

Some people are great with turned aluminium, some people could sculpt you a Daniel Craig head with such apparent ease it's painful.

I'm not very artistic, so couldn't do a paint up on a bust for example, neither am I very good at photoshop, so I'd be useless at paper props.

When I started, I'd never done anything of the like before, but I found I could just do it.

Try making props out of cardboard, wood - anything that comes to hand. If it's good then try making things out of hardware items.

Trial and error is what it's all about. If you're first one turns out as a disapointment, then do another. It's all about learning as you go and most importantly, having fun.

Trust me, things WILL go wrong and you'll want to chuck the lot in the bin - still happens to me now - often. But keep going, you'll be glad you did.

All the best and good luck

    Duncan

    I have been looking out for this phone, locally so far. When / If I find one there was a few things I was going to do with it;
    * Cut it in half, add in buttons ect, put a printscreen on the screen and removed easily.
    * Lock pick in the top antena
    * Two little spiked metal rods in the bottom for the elecric shock.

But I havent found one yet so ...

I am working on a replica of the TND... and if I have it finished by Christmas.... I mite be giving you all a Christmas Gift an easy to follow step by step guide on how to make it...

I am also making the Red GPS Encoder from TND

The TND cell phone is based on the old erricsson R80S model i think it was called.... the phones are almost Identical so all you have to do is but the phone model and add the gadgets... which is what I am doing... Mite get a BMW to go with it :))

Am thinking of writing a book on the Bond props and replicas....... just a devoted guid to the gadgets... try and get it published ... one of my ambitions in life.... I know..... some guys and gals want to land on the moon ,... I want to write a book about the items seen in a Bond film... :)) But I love it...

That would be nice Micheal's guide to making bond props :))

well the book would be like an nalysis of all the props and details and history etc.... and possibly from it the information to making props could be drawn... but a book of step by step guides.... would ruin the fun of prop making .... the idea is to learn and experiment using different materials and parts, prototype replicas etc ... a manufacture process... if it was all mapped out and told to everyone it would be not fun and make the whole area of making props or collecting props... less unique... I feel anyway
