Too bad that it changes in QoS logo. It would be fun to put the red circle with Bond in the top of the screen like the credits of dr.no. That would be retro.

Okay, this will be my final word on the gunbarrel. God knows I've said enough on it.
* I don't like the fact it's at the end of the movie, I understand why it's there, but I still don't like the fact, nonetheless.
* It's far too quick. The blood descends too rapidly, leaving no sense of purpose from Bond holding poise.
* I do like the fact DC's cuffs and shirt remain visible after the blood falls. It gives him a menacing silhouette, similar to the Coke Zero ad I suppose.
* Obviously this gunbarrel will be unique (at least I pray to the heavens it is) in that it comes at the end of the film and, instead of opening into the PTS as it should, it incorporates the QoS logo, which is effective. I like it.
* After seeing it again, I realise DC is wearing a suit, a la Connery, Lazenby and early Moore. Again, I like that nod to the older Bonds.
* The above point also means the shots from the Bond On Set book were not for the QoS gunbarrel. It could be that they filmed a gunbarrel for use in subsequent films, with the tuxedo being 'earned' for Bond 23 onwards as it were. Just a thought.
* I actually do like Arnold's arrangement for the gunbarrel. There's an urgency about it (necessary because of the speed of the gunbarrel sequence no doubt) and the guitar is quite gritty.
* So, as a one off, I guess I'm saying it could have been worse. I just sincerely hope that, from here on in, the gunbarrel is the first thing we see after the MGM logo on all Bond films.
I really like this gun barrel. By all means this gun barrel suits the tone of the film. Craig shoots this sucker dead before he knows what's going on.
The blue-ish colour of it, the blood oozing out of the Q and the speed of it are all fine. I don't see much wrong with his stance either - it's a blend of Dalton and Moore, with a Craig supercharger under the hood.
They could have just had the QoS title card ala Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, but they threw in a gun barrel for us.
MK12 have done themselves proud, it's one of the best barrels of the series, I think.
I saw it on Youtube. The music and the gunbarrell are very good. Retro! I like it. I also like that they went back to the suit like Connery, Lazenby and Moore.

You know, I was thinking about this the other day, and I popped in my Dr. No DVD to confirm it. I guess QOS will now be the second Bond film to end with the gunbarrel, or at least with a circle as in the case of Dr. No. But Dr. No had it in the beginning too which is where it should be in QOS! But I won't let that disrupt my viewing enjoyment of this movie on Friday. :007)
The Gun barrel must be at the start of all future Bond films. I can just about understand why they moved it in CR to the start of the opening credits as that as when he became a double0. It should have been at the start of QoS. There are many Bond 'cues' and the art is to know which ones to use and when. Don't cram them all in to every film, but just use a select few. However every Bond film must start with the gun barrel and I'll take no arguments on this thank you very much.
There wasn't any artistic merit or cleverness by inserting the gun barrell at the end; I mean the movie had in reality totally finished and then the gun barrell appeared.
It really did belong at the beginning and the Alfa / Aston chase forming a natural PTS. I hope we have the option on the DVD to insert at the beginning or schedule scenes so that it opens with the GunB. Worst comes to the worst, I'm gonna re--record it the proper way.
Moving the gun barrel to the end nothing but an insult to the franchise and a betrayal to the fans!
I am one who disliked how they had a 3D bullet in DAD, and I was also ****ed that they played around with it in CR. But those were nothing in comparison to this. It was enough for me to want to kill EON or whoever had this idea of slotting it to the end.
I also SERIOUSLY could not pay attention to the film, thinking the whole time about what happened to it. I even whispered to my friend during the opening credit sequence that "I am this close to just leaving".
Putting it at the end was nothing but an insult. The only purpose they must have had to put it at the end, was to kill off any and all excitement and anticipation we fans had going into the movie!
I had watched all 21 previous movies leading up to QoS. 1 a day, for 21 days, ending the day before QoS. Every time I turned on a movie, I got the same reception (save CR but it was at least close enough). Way to break the cycle QoS, go join the ranks of Never Say Never Again and the original Casino Royal as an unofficial Bond movie.

I like it, but why is the white of his shirt and cuffs highlighted through the blood?
