Great job, will you ever get around to interview Ms Frogley?
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.

Not if EON have anything to do with it I won't X-(

Long story and none of my doing, I was always polite, courteous and did eveything they asked.

It really was at the 11th hour that they pulled the plug - once again X-(

It's only because I was cheeky enough to ask what was what before the main interview was to take place that I found out what I did.

Louise really was great, but even she can't bite the hand that feeds her.

    Hi Duncan,

I have not seen any pictures of craig on set or stills from the film of him wearing the shannon.

Although he is clearly wearing them at the wrap party, pictures over at just jared.

Also the boots he is wearing in the desert are not Ryders, the toe is much more rounded. Does anyone have any idea what these are?

    Thanks

    Hi Flash,

At the moment, in some cases, we're very much working on what we've been told. That's where actually seeing the movie will pay dividends.

With regards the Ryder boot in the desert. The Ryder III is very much part of the 'official' costume for those scenes. However, that's not to say he doesn't wear a stunt boot for some parts of it. Just like in the rooftop chase. I certainly agree that the running photo shows a rounder toe. Whereas other pics show the R3.

Here's yer actual Ryder III in the desert -

There's plenty more to come on the wardrobe article. This is the first draft so to speak, there to be added to and debated.

    All the best

Sorry that is where i made my assumption from seeing the running scene.

Incase anyone is interested, Russell & Bromley, are currently stocking a near identicle boot to the ryder at £120. Obviously it will not be the same quality as a pair from Church, none the less i have been kicking around in my R&B's for some time time and they are holding up well, they really do go with anything, fantastic boot.

Out of interest, do you know why they moved away from John Lobb? I was in Church on Saturday and there is no marketing for any of the shoes credited.

No probs at all, that what this place is for.

I can only assume it was down to Louise Frogley and Daniel Craig. DC has been seen off duty in the light coloured Ryders for a while now, so maybe a visit to churchs ended up with the others being chosen. I was in Churchs myself on 16th October, and you're right there was no promotion. Still lovely shop and very helpful staff.

They certainly look like they've seen some action.

That is impressive, where did you come by that photo?

Although they have no doubt seen more action than that type of boot was ever intended for and well worn in, the toe still definitely appears more rounded, would you agree? It is more in keeping with a Crockett & Jones - Chiltern, although obviously not as that boot has three eyelets but the toe is near enough identical.

Just had a thought, and I'd have to check this out. But Churchs do the Ryder III in an extra wide fitting as well. I wonder if the standard width R3s were used for the most part, and for reasons of comfort or whatever the wide fitting ones were used for some more action heavy parts?

That could possibly account for a more rounded toe in some pics and the more pointed seen in others.

I'll ring Churchs tomorrow and find out if there's any difference in toe shape.

If he wore a wider fitting he could put either a gel or foam insole inside the boot, far easier to run in and less punishing on your feet,
I once chased a mugger in a pair of dainite soled shoes and gave up after 400m,it was like running in clogs! just an idea...

There are only 2 casual jackets worn in QoS, not 3 like the article states.

Quite right Linton. Only 2 casual jackets made it to screen. But as I have mentioned before. Prior to the release of the movie, we could only go on released photographs and what we have been told.

Also, don't forget that the article is, in effect, a first draft, to be updated and added too as more and more was found out.

Hi there, I'm fairly new to this forum so not too sure if this is defintely the right thread for a Casino Royale item of clothing. This also may well have been done before so apologies if I'm being a tart; but I found a fairly good replica of the light blue jersey worn by craig in casino royale:

I thought it looked fairly similar, so I ordered it, and now it's arrived I can say that I think it's excellent. Although having said that, I've yet to see how scrutinous some of you bond experts are. Anyways, have a look for yourselves.

Would be surprised if this has not been mentioned before but a pretty affordable alternative to the Churchs boots are Clarks desert boots:

Preety good when you look at them alongside the Ryder's here:
