James Bond and the BBFC

Does anyone think that the James Bond films have been given some slack in terms of violence as all of the pre-LTK ones get away with the 'PG' certificate? While most of them could pass for 'PG' I think some of them have moments that are a bit strong for 'PG' and would be more comfortable at '12'. In TB for example a scene has Largo bloodily stabbing a an ally agent of Bond's underwater. I can't imagine that shot getting away with 'PG' these days.

Also, somebody get's shredded in OHMSS and that's more bloody than 'Friday The 13th'! LALD has quite a bit of blood and you also see heroin. A girl is eaten by sharks in TSWLM. Off the top of my head you see nudity in DAF, TMWTGG, FYEO, OP, TLD. You'd never get away with now unless it was a 15.
Now everything has to be a 12A. The BBFC have officialy gone nuts, all the PG's and 15's are now 12's. Why? 12 is just bridging a gap, so why is it used so often? I'm gonna complain, who's with me?
And only 699 of them with a list, a survey, or a ranking!
