I don't believe anyone ever finished that game, that game blew big time. I had the game for a long time and could never get past I believe level 3 or 4 where you had you were in a small area and had to use the weapons on the car to destroy the other vehicles, then go down an alley to a construction site and fight some forklifts or something. It was impossible. I don't believe the game had a storyline I think every level was just a different driving exercise.

I'd love to see a successor to this game - I never got past the first level in the original, but it is such a great idea for a game, especially with the lack of driving in QoS the game.

But instead of making it missions, maybe it would be good if it were actually racing - pitting the DB5 against the Lotus Esprit against the Vanquish - the Vanquish has auto shotguns, but the Esprit can cross rivers. I don't know, it seems like it could make for a cool game if it was done right.

I thought I'd read somewhere that Bizarre Creations (which is now owned by Activision) was in fact working on a James Bond racing game; if fact, that may be one of the reasons there were no driving levels in QoS.

One approach I was thinking they could take would be to make the game an MI6 driving simulator for 00 agents to hone their skills. That would allow the developer to pretty much go wild and let them mix mission based scenarios with more traditional races. Throw in some recreations of chases from classic Bond films - Bond chasing Scaramanga in TMWTGG or Bond fighting off Stromberg's men in TSWLM for example - and you'd have the makings of a fun game.

You're right, Tony, I completely forgot about that!

I wouldn't mind if they just let you play through all of the car chases throughout the films. That would be good enough for me.

I don't care so much for the DB5 or the Lotus vehicles...I always had the wild desire to drive Dr. No's dragon tank. It's the more bizarre options that would make a 007 racing game more appealing to me.

That's as far as I got, too. I was incredibly disappointed in that game.

I only played '007 Racing' once for a very short while, I think I was on multiplayer, I dont remember it being a great game, graphics were blocky and awful like 'Tomorrow Never Dies' (although I actually liked that game for some reason).

I hope if they do make this new '007 racing' style game that they do it right, like perhaps the game could basically be based on every single car chase from the films, perhaps with the option to mix and match the cars and the Bond actors between the different chases, i mean imagine being able to play as Sean Connery in a Dr No dragon tank re-enacting the car chase from QoS? It would be insane!

Perhaps Activision could also release a Mario Kart style game for Wii and 360, imagine diddy sized Bond vehicles racing around cartoony representations of classic locales, with un-naturally larged sized heads of the characters popping out through the roof, and instead of collecting mushrooms and lightning bolts you collected various gadgets and weapons to blast the other racers away! It would a great idea I think to bring Bond back to the kids of today, as I think they have been missing out over the past few years.

    '007 KART - COMING AUTUMN 2009!'

I think this may be just me that thinks this would be cool though haha!

EDIT: What about Lego James Bond at some point! They've done it with Star Wars, Batman, Indiana Jones etc. Why not Bond? (Maybe I'm taking this too far)

It would be nice to finally see a true 007 driving experience, but 007 Racing is still a very frustrating PSX game. I started on the PSX-so excited for 32 bit 007! TND wasn't terrible, but not fantastic. TWINE was good for what it was, but hard. Then we get to this inane creation. There really is no way to beat without cheating. (What I did, sad to say.) Even then it is insanely hard. The plot is laughable and added on for no reason. However it does give one the chance to blow people away in the Esprit, Z3, Z8, DB5, and Vantage.

I've actually beaten the game a couple of times (Although the third level was a sod to beat!). In the last level, you need to destroy the four propellers of the antagonist's aeroplane before it takes off with the help of the Lotus. After the propellers are destroyed, the plane then turns around and you have to destroy its front wheels. Then drive to the right and keep going straight before the plane hits you until you crash through the fence into the sea before time runs out.

A cutscene then follows where the Lotus goes underwater, escaping the explosion, before resurfacing. Bond then makes love with the Bond Girl of the game. Fair enough, seeing as he said it was "12 hours to England." :))

EDIT: And now, thanks to ChainBreakerHQ, here's a video to the last level and ending! :D
