International translations of the title

In norway we seldom bother to translate movie titles. I don't know if it just to save money or because we think we are too good at the english language, but the last Bond title we translated was LTK. But some countries must have translated the title Quantum of Solace, and I think it would be interesting to know how they translated this cryptic title. how was Qos translated in your country?

Here it has been translated to "Ein Quantum Trost" which is ridiculous as noone uses the term "Quantum".
I think, they have kept it in order to get the connection to international ads and to the Quantum organisation in the movie.

But the titel in german is absolutely terrible because of this!

I know that the titles Dr. No, Goldfinger, Moonraker, Octopussy, GoldenEye and Casino Royale are not translated into different languages.

Except the two Bond titles were translated into Russian.

Octopussy - Oc'minozhka, Îñüìèíîæêà

GoldenEye - Zolotoj (Zolotoy) Glaz, Çîëîòîé Ãëàç

NOTE: Click on View then Encoding and select Cyrillic in order to view Russian characters.

Some Bond titles were translated into two versions of Spanish: European and Latin American.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
Spain: Diamantes para la Eternidad
Mexico: Los Diamantes Son Eternos

LIVE AND LET DIE
Spain: Vive y Deja Morir
Mexico: Vivir y Dejar Morir

THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN
Spain: El Hombre de la Pistola de Oro
Mexico: El Hombre del Revolver de Oro

A VIEW TO A KILL
Spain: Panorama Para Matar
Mexico: En la Mira de los Asesinos

DIE ANOTHER DAY
Spain: Muere Otro Día
Mexico: Otro Día Para Morir

I also noticed that the title The Living Daylights has no foreign translation. It has no meaning to international audiences, instead they alternate the title for this film.

Example, The Living Daylights has an alternate title for the international audiences.

In Spanish: Su Nombre Es Peligro (His Number is Danger) in Mexico, Alta Tensión (High Tension) in Spain.

In German: Der Hauch des Todes (The Breath of Death)

In French: Tuer N'est pas Jouer (To Kill is Not to Play)

In Italian: Zona Pericolo (Danger Zone)

In Russian: Zhivye Ogni, Æèâûå Îãíè (Alive Fires) or Iskry iz Glaz, Èñêðû èç Ãëàç (Sparks from the Eyes)

In Polish: W Obliczu Śmierci (In the Face of Death)

So many (foreign) alternate titles for TLD!
