I guess I won't be doing a video after all. Some people told me to put it in a case with a signed photograph of Bond. It's a collectors item. Darn, I really wanted to shoot it! ha
Had you just married Eva Green I doubt you would lock her in a closet, and refuse marital bliss because she is so darn beautiful, and desired by many..... Why treat your Walther PPK any different?
Shoot that pistol, just clean it properly and don't scratch it up by tossing it off a roof like SC, or throwing it around a hotel room like Rosa Klebb and you will love it all the more!!!!

trust me, as a brit who aint allowed anything more than a spud gun, use your ppk.
this kinda situation reminds me when i visited an historical car restorers who look after some extremely expensive cars. i was being shown around and the guy doing the tour said to me they were getting one of the cars ready for a race at the weekend. this car is worth at least £5m. i said to him "you still race this?!" "oh yeah" he replied "whats the point in owning it if you're not going to use it? it was made for racing, and while its still safe and competetitive to race, why have it gathering dust in a museum? when it gets damaged, we have it in and repair it."
the same applies for your ppk pal. use the damn thing, look after it and enjoy it.
Shoot that pistol.
I don't believe in 'safe queens'. It's not an antique, and it ain't made of glass.
It was made (very well ) to shoot.
My PPK was made in 1968 and was near mint when I purchased it.
It shows a little wear from me shooting it. Don't care.
It's very accurate and fun to shoot.
Resale value? I've wanted one since I was a little kid seeing Bond for the first time.
I'LL NEVER SELL IT!
Leave it in the safe? Pffaah! -{
I know what you mean seguse, I'd be tempted not to use it too. I have to keep that "What if" mindset under control too. If you bought it to shoot, shoot it. It was made to shoot, not sit in a display.
Yeah you guys make good points. Alright, well I should be going to the mountains in the next couple weeks so I will make sure to bring it and make a video.
Mountains, Schmountains. You need to find a nice house on the edge of the ocean with twin shark pools, or an abandoned volcanoe lair, or a mountain top retreat with a nearby bobsleigh run, or get access to a tanker containing some nuclear subs to shoot your video! Failing that...............OK OK I'll settle for plain mountains, but for God's sake shoot the thing, If it was me I'd be down the range with it every week, although I live in the UK I am seriously thinking of getting a friend in LA to buy one on my behalf so that I can shoot it once or twice a year on one of the many practical pistol ranges in SoCal.
This has to be singularly the MOST entertaining thread I have read here on AJB007.
Thanks to all involved, seriously interesting, humorous and even sexy (thanks to Eva Green).
I have to add my vote... SHOOT the PPK Seguse, it's just as 7289 says.
Craftsmen made that thing to shoot, not hang on a wall. I have some vintage vehicles and musical instruments, I treat them all with respect, but I use them daily. It'd be disrespectful to the soul of the machine to do otherwise.
As to the soul of Eva Green, the glint in those eyes tells me she might like a bit of disrespect from time to time -{
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Hello guys.
I'm a cg artist and i'd like to make a video game model of the PPK from Goldeneye as accurate as possible. I have tons of pics from different models and angles but they all have some slightly different shapes and i'm a bit confused about it.
So, Seguse, as the owner of teh Goldeneye ppk, would you be kind enough to post more pic of it from front and back? And if u have some info about sizes, that would be completely awesome. It would really helps me to figure out the shape.
Aaw thanks \o/
well the background doesn't matter, the best way woud be to avoid flash and lens or perspective deformations to have straight front/back/top views but that's not always easy. Also i woud need some shots of the hammer down. And ofc, the bigger resolution the better. But don't worry too much as it's more for checking. Thanks for your time
Just PM me your email address and I will take more pics and shoot them your way. The res will be somewhere in the 3000x2000 range so it will be high enough for sure.
lol, if u propose... wud be nice to have the back and front in better quality. Cheers
also i'm just doing that for training and fun, it's not gonna be in any professional game. Just in case u were all excited and stuff.
Went to the mountains but never had my feet on the ground so will have to do it another time. Kind of want to dress up in a tux and do the whole gun barrel on video gotta make it look awesome ya know. Not sure how good that would go over in the snow.
This is what i've done so far on the slide. I've worked a bit on other parts too, and have started a tokarev tt, while waiting for more pics . It's still kinda rough but i'm still not sure f the shape, so, i won't clean it for now.
I just watched, and may I say I thought for a moment you'd taken my advice re the snow covered mountain top retreat, even your top initially appeared to be very Lazenbyesque, close but not quite. I really hope you enjoyed your PPK, it was made to be shot. How many rounds did you put through off camera? Now I just want to see how you're going to display it at home. Remember Kev does a great line in dummy silencers (with plugs so you don't need a treaded barrel, for display only). Enjoy your new toy, it looks great. Now you need an SE GG to go with it.
I don't want to sound like someones mother, but please make sure that when you are handling that beautiful PPK you keep your finger OFF the trigger until the moment you are ready to shoot!
Otherwise count your blessings!
James Bond aside, the PPK is a real quality pistol that will last a lifetime +, if you take good care of it!

Well I tried my best. I really wanted to do a gun barrel while shooting it but just didn't get enough time. 7 Round mags, so 14 shots total in the vid.

It's fine. I can't stand when people talk about safety. Drives me up the wall and is so damn f-ing annoying. I forgive you.
7289: You don't sound at all like someone's mother! You sound EXACTLY like a person who knows what he is talking about and who doesn't want to see someone go through the pain of a negligent discharge!

I guess I understand your being miffed, prehaps even annoyed. But when you are dealing with REAL firearms there is no margin for error! No one should handle any live firearm without a through knowledge of basic firearms safety. Anyone witnessing unsafe gun handling has an obligation to point it out!
Please read the instruction manual that came with your Walther, and seek someone out who can give you a basic safety rundown. In the meantime, keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire, and never-ever point your PPK (loaded or not) at anything you do not wish to destory!!!!

Minty PPKs, people doing CGI of minty PPKs, Eva Green (rrrrooOOWWWwww).
Hmmmm. Time for a Friday night cocktail.
Some are a bit blurry but i think it's enough. I took a ppk 9mm as reference and it's not really the same shape GAH.

For some reason I can't figure out how to embed this video into the forum. Maybe someone else can do it or PM me how so I can edit my post. Whoot!
