The link above will take you to one of the most ridiculous ideas in Bond film history - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs as Bond, James Bond.

Are you kidding me? :s

The saddest part is that he links his possible promotion to playing James Bond to the Obama presidencey, not only once but a couple times. I am sure that P. Diddy playing JB and BO being president are about par...riiiiiiiiight. :(|)

I am trying to work out whether he is serious or not...and I think he is. 8-)

Gave my day a good laugh to start off with. :))

A7ce, I hope your comment was directed to the idea of Diddy being Bond and not to anyone personally!

    Anyway, to Bacaret:

No, far more ridiculous was the suggestion Roger Moore made several years ago that Cuba Gooding Jr. should be Bond!

Unfortunately there's a gap in Mr. Comb's plan. His lack of talent.

    Dear Sir,

You are a HACK! HACK! HACK! HACK! HACK!
    HACK! HACK! HACK! HACK! HACK!
    HACK! HACK! HACK! HACK! HACK!

Did I mention the word HACK?

Because only a HACK of staggering proportions would have the gall to pass off a fourth-rate fashion ad as being an "audition" for Bond.

Diddy, for all your talk of street cred, Bond fans find you ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. You are a complete and utter joke, sir, with ZERO credibility.(Whereas a gentleman like Wesley Snipes, for instance, has earned respect as an action star and could easily be considered a black Bond) The absolutely dumbest thing you could do is spent a vast amount of money on shots of you "posing".

My gut feeling is that the ad had NOTHING to do Bond to begin with, but Diddy, marketing genius that he is, saw an opportunity to parley it into a supposed "audition" tape.

If it wasn't so pathetic it would be funny.

Only a HACK of this magnitude is so deluded into believing that the power of "hype" can blind people into believing a load of crap.

If Diddy spent time and money on a mini-Bond movie, like a PTS, then he would earned some respect from the fans.(Who knows? It might have been good) But to wave this atrocity of narcissism in a Bond-fan's face is like a call to arms.

Do I protest too much? You bet. Because IMO Diddy's world-view that "Hype is King" is one of the reasons there is so much crap floating around. The philosophy of hype has a lot to answer for.

Hype is hype. Period. It can NEVER replace good work.

For a smart man, who one day will be a billionaire, its staggering that Diddy doesn't seem to realize how fundementally un-cool and pathetic he looks in the ad. Is there no one in his circle who can tell him he looks like a fool? Apparently not.

Because, you see, at the end of the day, only a HACK believes his own hype.

PS: did I mention P.Diddy is a HACK?

This is a very cool idea! P. Diddy is a true genius, and if anyone could pull this off, he could. Need I remind everyone that Sean Co____ is the greatest Bond ever? Well, I think Sean Co____ could give him a run for his money. Did you guys not notice the great acting in the "I'll Be Missing You" video? Go for it, Diddy!

    ;)
    Hilly...you old devil!

Hilly, you old devil is right! What a suggestion. :(|)

To compare Sir Connery with P. Diddy is pure Bond blasphemy. Surely your genealogy research should show you P. Diddy could not live up to the Bond name! Sir Hillary, no respectable baronet from the College of Arms would suggest such a travesty!

Haven't seen this much fury and righteous anger since I posted my opinions in one of the comic book threads. I'd voice my views on "The Puffed One", but it would be my luck that there's 4 members waiting to pounce. :))
