DC Cufflinks

I recently bought, at Selfrides in London, the Dupont cufflinks that DC wore in Casino Royale. Interestingly I bought 3 different types. Reference numbers are 5172 (square silver he wears in Aston Martin), 5244 (long silver he wears in tuxedo) and 5245 (black square onyx ???). The 5245 are similar size to the 5172, but shaped like 5244 (hope that makes sense!). I know they weren't used in the movie, but they are definately the same tie-in and have 'B.M. casino royale onyx' on the outer box. Can anyone elaborate on why they were made?

Sorry I can't help but I have a related question. Does anyone know where I could purchase (in the US) the coffin-style clinks DC wears at the casino? Or would anyone be willing to pick some up overseas and ship?

There are sometimes replica cufflinks on Ebay that are done in the CR Tuxedo style. If you're looking for real Duponts, I cannot say I have seen those on Ebay.

The cheapest I have seen these on ebay or anywhere is like $2,000! :#

Are the replica ones you are referring to are the pair available from Spain from a place called "Iguana Sell"?

The black onyx square 5245 have indeed not been used in the movie but were part of the same Casino Royale collection as the long 5244's, so they came in a special Casino Royale box and had 007 engraved on the back of the cuff.

In the same series, Dupont released a table lighter, 2 normal lighters, a cigar humidor, cigar cutter, ash tray, 2 pens, a usb stick, a keychain and a special box set of the Carta Mundi chips and cards.

A few Seduction Cases (both in big and small versions) including all kinds of goodies (like a bottle of champagne, glasses, caviar trays, Sony mp3 player) were also made, but I've never seen one in real life.

Quite a find geosam! Those cufflinks were already very hard to find at the time of Casino Royale, let alone after two years!

The ones I've seen come from sellers in Argentina.

Thanks for the info - sounds like I was lucky. I bought the tuxedo ones 2 years ago (for someone else) and Selfridges didnt have the other two types. I'll probably never wear them anyway, so may auction on Ebay!!

On ebay, look up "CASINO ROYALE CUFFLINK."

Seller "costumebase" is selling a pair for about $35. If I order a pair I'll let everyone know if they're any good... With a name like "costumebase" I wouldn't be expecting too much...

Sorry Monza, I'm one of the few people in the world that doesn't have a digital camera - not very Bond-like! Can Remmert007 help with photos - if possible, it may be good to show all 3 types?

Mine just arrived today from Costume Base. In comparing to the pair I got from Argentina last year, these are wider and thus look more "manly" and only like an 1/32 on an inch shorter than the previous pair. Overall, well worth the price.

The Omega marketing campaign (for their watch in QoS) has close up photos of DC wearing his tux, holding a gun. You can also see silver square cufflinks - looks like the 5172 dupont (CR aston martin) cufflinks. Can anyone verify?

Here's a pic of (a part of) my S.T. Dupont cufflink collection.

Black onyx (5245) not seen in any movie, Casino Royale poker scene (5244) and the diamond head square (5172) as seen in CR and probably QoS plus Omega ad as well.

All the way on the left a part of the Dupont bullet cufflinks from 2004 collection, and on the right a pair of Duponts that may or may not have been worn during the CR train scene.

    cufflinks.jpg

I'll add a special Dupont cufflinks section on my site soon with all of them together.

I have been unable to find either the 5172 or the 5244 at any online store. Where are you guys finding them?

They sold out in 2006 and are fetching ludicrous prices now. Expect to pay four figures for the screen seen CR ones. JamesBondLifestyle has a set up for auction at the minute.

Just ended indeed. Seems like the value of these CR limited editions is still high: final price was 730 euro.

Thank heaven with the "007" on the back I happen to think they're rather gawdy;)

Anybody know who won the cufflinks? I was willing to go up to 1000 Euros but missed the end of the auction. Maybe he'd be interested in making a little profit...

I have a set of the long silver Poker Scene cufflinks. They were apparently one of the cufflink sets avalable to DC to wear on set. I have no authenticity to confirm this though.

They do not have the 007 logo on the bar as they are not the Ltd Edition range, but are engraved with the usual S T Dupont motive.

I have worn them for work as they've been a great talking point (as you'd imagine), but are still in great condition.

I was looking to get a valuation for insurance purposes and can't find anywhere that can provide one. Any ideas pls?

    Hi geosam

I have only just joined this forum today and while browsing realised I was the one who won and bought these cufflinks off your goodself. I have a number of ST Dupont cufflinks and these black onyx ones are another example of the fantastic quality items they produce. Many thanks for the sale and prompt service :)

To complete the Casino Royal range I am looking for a pair of the type worn by DC in the casino scenes. However I get the feeling I will be looking for some for a long time to come :(

NMS, thanks for the message and thanks for the very prompt purchase. The cufflinks are fantastic quality - I actually think they would have been better with the tuxedo than the silver ones! All the best.

I recently obtained a pair of the infamous "coffin" links from the casino scenes (with tux) via airlineintl.com and I believe they may have additional but be prepared to pay around 1400 big ones. Actually the best price I found though obviously you need to be obsessive like yours truly! The links on the far right of the photo can be seen very clearly in the QOS Omega ad on the inside back cover of MI6 Declassified Issue #4. In the 2009 Dupont collection (#5174)and available via raffaello-network.com for around $300. They are classy links! Hope this helps.

I know this thread has been dormant for some time but I was only made aware of the Casino Royale onyx cufflinks when they popped up on amazon:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/S-T-DUPONT-CASINO-ROYALE-LIMITED-CUFFLINKS/dp/B01LYS9EPM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1508969511&sr=8-6&keywords=james

Too expensive for my taste and, as mentioned in previous posts, can't recall them getting any screen time in the film. If anyone has not come across these before they are worth checking out. Cheers.
    I'm sorry......that last hand...nearly killed me
