Sometimes when I am sad, I go to YouTube and watch the end of Casino Royale. It's sad that I can't find a version that would have the first half with Mr. White and the second with the credits.
The villa is just so perfect, the scene is new, VERY bondian, and the first 10 seconds of the music....
And then, I stop being sad and start being awesome (Barney, from How I Met Your Mother)
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?
OHMSS has to be the best. If I'm not mistaken it is the only Bond film to end as Fleming ended the story in his novel.
It is a beautifully written, poignant scene and for once the screen writer did real justice to Fleming's vision. And what a vision it was. Anyone who had not read the novel would be shocked and anyone who had would have been waiting for it with gritted teeth.
CR comes second. "The name's Bond, James Bond."
I enjoy Thunderball but I'm always troubled by that final scene. Bond's tether slips under his arm and the film never shows him straightening out the line. I can't help but say "OUCH!" every time I see that. Imagine getting yanked out of the raft like that. ! Talk about painful.
with a doubt, Quantum of Solace followed by Casino Royale, i loved how Quantum's ending took place in the snow at night and when the bond theme is quietly played intertwined with Vesper's theme as he drops the love knot in the snow and moves on is quite an emotional statement, and the final shot is brilliant showing the love knot in the snow, cue gunbarrel and bond theme.
I like the endings for Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. It was interesting when Bond said, "I don't think the dead care about vengeance."
"I admire your courage, Miss?...""Trench, Sylvia Trench."
"I admire your luck, Mister?..." "Bond, James Bond."
Even though I don't care for the movie, the ending is memorable...OHMSS

I have to say I love the two Craig endings.
If I had to choose one, it would be CR: the luxurious location, the use of the Bond theme, the close-up on the feet, the build-up to the "name": masterly.
Yet QoS comes in a close second (even though I hated the gunbarrel sequence at the end). Still the cold-blue atmosphere of Kazan, the snow and the heavy coats, the confrontation with the Algerian boyfriend subtly echoing the PTS of CR, then the exchange between Bond and M and the close-up on the Algerian love-knot: perfectly atmospheric.
I also like the LTK ending, though it's not on par with the Craig ones in either composition or set-up.
OHMSS I find a little overacted (hey it's just an opinion!)
