The Tom Ford Polo

I'm sorry if there has already been a thread about the details of the Tom Ford Polo. I couldn't find it. From the threads about the Sunspel polo showing up in QoS I gather a little information. Like they are less fitted. Sunspel did finally make the 007 polo in 2XL so I bought one. While I do very much like it, I find it is really built for a smaller man. That sounds kind of funny. The Sunspel is fitted to someone with narrow shoulders. I love the material and the rest if the fit.

Cutting to the chase, has anyone bought or have in their possession a Tom Ford polo? Before I buy some I want to know things like the fabric is it Pique or vented warp knit like the Sunspel? Do they sell on the rack or do I have to have them made? Do they have and rib knitted collar or is it collar made from the same material as the body, a la Sunspel? Do the sell them in 2XL?

My problem is a regular cut polo fits me like an athletic/muscle cut. I think, this trend in extreme fitting is for people to feel more muscular than they are rather than truly showing off muscles. If you are already a large frame, it makes you look like the shirts have women's capped sleeves.

Clarky, the TF may look like the Sunspel from a few feet away but it is an A frame shirt as opposed to the slimmer more athletic cut of the Sunspel. And although the TF sleeves come up high on the bicep it is not as fitted to the bicep as the Sunspel. The shirt is piqued but has a different weight than the Sunspel....where as the Sunspel is a light almost airy material the TF is a heavier gauge and drapes accordingly. The collar nmaterial is the same as the body but has a little bit of bunting in it for shape. As far as whether they sell it in a 2XL I don't know but I believe the blue polos were made for the movie but the stores carried them in black, white and red. Retail price of $495.00

Great shame, though, that having ensured they (rather than Sunspel) had the naming rights for the QOS polo, they then didn't produce them in the movie colour!

Mantis, thank you for the information. I have a trip to New York soon and I wanted to be ready when I went in to Tom Ford's new shop. I may have to have the blasted things made. I wonder if TF's bespoke has a six minimum like T&A. It will me neat to see what they go for each for bespoke. I'll let you guys know.

Reviving an ooolllddd thread to ask for help with a crafting exercise.

I found a white version of this TF polo at a decent price. I'm wondering if it'd be relatively easy to dye it to match the film color. I know Mantis or someone else on the forums has experience dying the replica Enjoying Death shirt, so figured this wasn't the worst place to go with the question. Separately wondering if this is even a good idea as I'd like to keep the tags and such intact (and frankly don't really mind having a clean/crisp white TF polo, even if it's not SA).
