Where in Aldershot?

According to the Greg Williams Bond on Set book the scenes at the end of the film where Bond and M are talking about Vesper in the snow in Russia were actually filmed in Aldershot which I understand is just outside London. But can anyone tell me where in Aldershot they were filmed???

I know Wikipedia isn't to reliable, but it says the scenes were filmed in the Bruneval Barracks in Aldershot.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

Its funny, when QOS opened, I went with my son to watch it. When i saw the final scenes, I commented ' that looks like one of my old Army camps in Aldershot'. How right i was! I was in Bruneval Barracks during the 80's. Hideous buildings, built I gather my a Mr poulson who was later imprisioned for a block of flats collapsing in Birmingham which his company had built, using sub-standard materials and methods. Happy days!

does that make you a para Brix?..

Bruneval was part of the Mortgommery lines at Aldershot, built in 1965 (by John Poulson) to house 16th Para Brig.

    this is the museum history;

    http://www3.hants.gov.uk/museum/aldershot-museum/local-history-aldershot/barracks/montgomery-lines.htm

you're right, he was disgraced (went to jail, only to be set free my Longford who argued it was inhumane to house a sick man in prison...when one looks at his buildings, seems quite ironic!) but i don't remember any of his buildings collapsing...he was jailed for paying sweeteners to govt officials (indeed, while never proven, it forced Home Secretary Reginald Maudling to resign....)
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/property/3313887/Final-insult-to-Poulson.html

they were supposed to go in 2005 (from hansard in 2000:
"Mr. Gerald Howarth (Aldershot): I support the hon. Member for Stroud (Mr. Drew). The Minister will be aware that Aldershot has some very substandard accommodation. The Normandy, Bruneval and Rhine barracks--a legacy of Poulson--are especially bad. I understand that they will not be removed until 2005. ...... "

yet they (like most of ab-pre-fab Britain) are still there... :(

    though refurbed (penultimate paragraph here)

    Actually just found this...

    http://www.gethampshire.co.uk/news/s/2038353_barracks_and_airport_provide_location_for_bond_film

Sgt Major JJ Ferry, Garrison Sgt Major for Aldershot, worked with the crews to make sure filming ran smoothly.

He said: “It was the military’s job to do what they wanted us to do and to keep the females out because of Daniel Craig.

“With the signs we put up, no-one knew what they meant.

“Among the military females, though, the word got out.

“There weren’t too many problems but a few tried to get through the gates. We had security and the Bond film company provided extra security.

“Daniel Craig was there for about three days and Judi Dench was there only for the one day.

“All the main filming happened in the evening because they were filming a night scene.”

Sgt Maj Ferry knows the Montgomery Lines barracks well, having started his Army career there. He thinks the buildings are suited for a Russian scene. “I call it the Eastern bloc design,” he said.

The military managed to disguise the filming with a hidden message.

“It was dead easy because the signs we put up on the site didn’t mean anything to people,” Sgt Maj Ferry said. “We had signs that said 22 unit. That gave directions to the film crew but not to anyone else because it just so happened to be the 22nd Bond film.”

Thats right ke02, I was with 2 Para. We moved in there around 81 after 2 years in Northern ireland.
I remember before one block leave, we were told the barracks were having an extensive re-rurb. The radiator leaked in our room, so someone had wrapped a green army sock around the leak. When we got back from leave, everwhere had been painted white, including the green army sock. The radiator still leaked!!

To anybody in the know, 22 is also the number of the British SAS Regiment. Things could have gotten interesting!
