Zune!

I was wondering if anyone here has heard about the worldwide freeze of 30gb zunes yesterday and wondering if anyone else here has one that froze.

As I understand it, it's only a small number of 2006 models ... and there's a fix on the way.

I would have thought that most people who bought Zunes in 2006 have seen the error of their ways and purchased an iPod Touch or iPhone since then though

I don't have a Zune myself but I've read that the freezeups had something to do with a leap year glitch in the Zune's operating system. It should correct itself now that the year has rolled over by letting the battery completely run down and then recharging it and turning it back on.

My daughter has the Zune in question, and it did freeze up. However, following the directions that Tony described it is now fine. BTW, she likes her Zune quite a bit.
