Bond 23 (2010/2011)
Whilst the second of the new Bond films wasn't a critical success. It still managed to pull in over $500million world-wide (so far). It's only a matter of time before 'Neal Purvis', 'Robert Wade' and fellow writer, 'Paul Haggis' finish the next script. Daniel Craig has confirmed that the 'Vesper' storyline is over and that they hope to move on to bigger adventures. Craig also mentioned that they could finally re-introduce Q and Moneypenny. One of the missing pieces to the success of the franchise could be the absence of director Martin Campbell in "Quantum". If they can convince Campbell to direct the next film it be could be a return to the quality of "Casino Royale".
News & Rumours
- There has been a suggestion that Olga Kurylenko may return in this movie or the next Bond movie after.
- "Quantum of Solace" director, 'Marc Forster' has mentioned that he isn't planning on signing-on to direct this movie.
- This movie is not expected to be a direct follow-on from "Quantum of Solace" and "Casino Royale" which the former was a direct sequel to the latter. Producer 'Barbara Broccoli' has said that the series "will go on to other different stories from now on". However, there still is likely to be the appearance of the 'Q.U.A.N.T.U.M' organization, but with different villains. Moreover, 'Broccoli' has also hinted at the possibility of a trilogy, which means a connection with "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace" saying that "I think in some way, he will go after the (Q.U.A.N.T.U.M) organization. So in that sense, it may become a trilogy, but we haven't really structured it that way".
- It has been touted that this film will be shot in 'New York'. In the published Ian Fleming stories, James Bond goes to New York in "Live And Let Die", "Diamonds Are Forever", "Goldfinger" and the short story "007 in New York". In the movies, he went there previously in "Live and Let Die".

I hope the New York location means a bit of unused literary material (like Bond getting his finger broken :v ) ends up in the mix...I wonder if Eon is bold enough to try to incorporate a modern take on what Fleming did, and send Bond up against a black master criminal, with some serious, high-end 'Gangstas' on his payroll---those guys could break a finger ---Makes perfect sense for Quantum to have their tentacles in such an organization. Probably won't happen, though...
I'd love them to try a new writer for the first draft...and I'd do it for the Writer's Guild minimum! B-)
...please...?

I suppose the idea that the producers have had since CR is to have P&W write one draft and then have Haggis "polish" it. Without the polish by Haggis we end up with horrible, cliche-ridden dialogue. With Haggis, however, dialogue is better but also full of political bull-crap that I do not want to see in a Bond movie. It is a lose-lose for me. Get some new writers, EON! Ditch these guys who wrote DAD!
Also, I doubt if Martin Campbell will ever do another Bond film. I have mixed feelings about him anyways because he directed my favorite Bond film as well one of my least favorites. I do not have an official source, but I heard somewhere that he says he does not want to direct a Bond film ever again. That makes since I guess. He already did two that were very successful, so why do another one that may not be able to measure up to the standard of the two he already did? In my opinion CR did not even turn out as good as GE. But that's a whole other debate. )
It's always good to cite your sources when you use them... To fail to do so invites all manner of problems...
