In case you did not see the film, which is about a cross-country automobile race from Connecticut to California, Roger Moore makes an appearance driving an Aston Martin with a woman, and even using an oil slick and smoke to lose pursuing police.
Even though he is cast as Seymour Goldfarb, Jr., when he registers for the race he actually registers as "Roger Moore". I wonder why?

Because Seymour thinks he is Moore; that's the whole joke of Moore's appearance.
Oh... yeah I've seen the movie several times but I never got that part.

That's a great flick; the end of an era, really---kind of the last gasp of the old-style, All-Star farce.
