Which has been your best Bond stunt?

Trane & plane fight - OP
PTS & Cargo net fight - TLD
Truck chase - LTK
All the action in CR (except from the 'falling house')

I would say the parachute jump from TSWLM. Featuring in one of my five favourite PTS's, the parachute jump still thrills me 3o+ years on. The fact that it was done for real only adds to the wonder of it. :D

I agree that RM is over-looked in the 'action' department. Sure it was all done by rather obvious stuntmen but look at the pre-creds for TSWLM-MR-FYEO-OP! :o

That's what Bond is all about ;)

I remember thinking that the bungee jump in Goldeneye was pretty spectacular the first time I saw it.

It always gets you in the mood for the film if there's a great stunt in the PTS I reckon. I don't know what the producers were thinking by putting in some dumb car chase as the PTS for this latest (excuse for a) Bond!

The whole pre-title story of LD is my Favorite with the fight hanging out of the plane trule amazing. and i do have a love for the spiral car jump in TMWTGG, i've seen it from a head on angle and think it looks better than the one used in the film.

    I see that a lot.

People also seem to get confused with TLD (The Living Daylights) & TND (Tomorrow Never Dies)

Don't worry about it; I honestly for the life of me couldn't figure out what Bond film you were referring to. I was even wondering whether you were referring to a Moore film. ;%

I was never impressed by the ski jump, but not because of its daring and execution. I hate scenes that are written to accomodate stunts, and that's exactly the case here. The entire setup was designed to climax in the ski jump, so instead of the stunt supporting the story, it became the reason for the story. And since we know Old Rog didn't do the stunt, it's just obvious fluff. Another cookie cutter approach to a live action cartoon.

Whole PTS of TSWLM, especailly the skiing stunts, like the flip and even though it envolved green screen I love the gun in the ski pole.

Boat flip in PTS of TWINE.

Car chase in TLD, overall stunts are pretty good in this.

Tidal wave ride in DAD :o. JUST KIDDING :p.
    1. TWINE 2. FYEO 3. MR 4. TLD 5. TSWLM 6. OHMSS 7. DN 8. OP 9. AVTAK 10. TMWTGG 11. QoS 12. GE 13. CR 14. TB 15. FRWL 16. TND 17. LTK 18. GF 19. SF 20. LaLD 21. YOLT 22. NTTD 23. DAD 24. DAF. 25. SP

    "Better make that two."

I would say the car jump in TMWTGG...minus the stupid sound effect. No CGI back then to pull something like that off which makes it all the more endearing to me. ;)

I remembered being impressed by the runway sequence in CR. Not sure if it's a favourite though. The motorbike stuff in TND is good too.

    For me its like this,

GF Car chase with GOldfinger's men

YOLT Little Nellie battle with the SPECTRE helicopters

TLD PTS, Car chase with Aston Martin and Army vehicles and cargo net fight

    GE Bungee Jump

    TND HALO Parachute jump

TWINE barrel roll in the Q boat

CR Free running chase, espicaly when Bond and Mollaka move from crane to crane at the construction site

So many great ones, the man doubling for Jaws in TSWLM who went through the train glass window head-first was extremely dangerous. Also dangling from the train in OP. Heard the poor guy shattered his hip doing that.

    For me it's:

    1) Bungee Jump in Goldeneye - unexpected, no music or cgi rubbish
    2) Mercedes knocked off the railway track in Octopussy (see the stuntman get jarred out of the rowing boat on impact - amazed he wasn't hurt (maybe he was )it's such a naturally performed stunt)
3)The surfing infiltration in DAD - maybe only because I surf, but to get three surfers so close on twenty-five foot plus waves riding in sinc was incredible. It's an utterly ridiculous scene in terms of clandestine infiltration, but extremely well exucuted for real.
4)Jet boat victory roll in TWINE - it harks back to the broken bridge roll in TMWTGG - which is also a great stunt, but for the stupid whistle sound effect.
    5) The Aston DBS swerving over vesper and barrel rolling in CR - I really wished they'd given that car some screen time like Dalton's Vantage in TLD.

Irrespective of the films they appeared in and whether they were an organic part of the movie or shoehorned into the plot, the Roger Moore movies probably had the most memorable and dangerous stunts of the series to date. The stunt people really put it on the line during Roger's tenure with stunts of ever escalating sophistication.

The ski jump in TSWLM ranks at the top of my list. Honorable mentions go to the mid air battle from the MR PTS, the corkscrew jump from TMWTGG, the climb to St. Cyril's monastery from FYEO and the stuntwork on the train in OP. And even though it wasn't Bond, let's not forget the parachute jump off the Eiffel Tower in AVTAK.

I'd also give a shout out to the fabulous ski chases from OHMSS. In addition to some amazing work by Willy Bogner (some of which was on one ski with no poles) the filmmakers also engineered an actual avalanche! All in a day's work for a Bond movie.

I'd probably go along with that---at least the bit about the ski jump ;) :p

In all seriousness, though, the Moore era represented a quantum* leap forward, in terms of scale and showmanship...though I wouldn't cast aspersions on the derring-do of any era of Bond stuntmen. Talk about entertainers...

So many great stunts, but I can hardly recall a movie theater erupting for any other moment in a film as it did for the TSWLM ski jump when the Union Jack chute unfurled. This is LA and not London and it was awesome!

    Mine are:

LALD - the bridge roll jump.
DAF - the two wheeled slim alley stunt.

Sorry I can't think of more modern ones, my mind is a blank at current.

I really like the Moonraker freefall sequence. It shouldn't be overlooked. It was done for real and took a lot of time and effort.

You might even argue that they needed them more than the others.

For instance, my favorite RM era film, LALD is just a sequence of stunt scenes after another, with RM going through the motions in between. :v

I would say Casino Royale, with the African Chase, Miami Aiport, Venice (Even though it does not count)

The others are good, but CR is easily my favourite.
