A new Hector Hammond photo is currently online so thought I'd share...
Looks alot like Ron Jeremy got ahold of Banner's infected gamma blood.
Seriously, Hammond is one of those villians that can be conveyed very effectively onscreen and be memorable or come across as kinda laughable. I hope it's the former.
I can't help but snicker at some of his set photos; the one posted previously by Tony looks the best.
Mrs. Man Face: "You wouldn't hit a lady? Would you?"
Batman: "The Hammer Of Justice isUNISEX!"
-Batman: The Brave & The Bold -
Hector Hammonds eyes look yellow in that mutated pic is that true in the comics or forshadowing of
Parralax ?
I'm inclined to think it's the latter; especially in light of that scene in the teaser where it looks like Abun Sur is being hurled back from something yellow

) I can see a little bit of that in that pic but this habit of yours to equate guys with porno stars is a little troubling (let's not forget your rant on the Johnny Holmes lookalike who starred in Dr. Strange).
Villains with big heads can always be problematic; hopefully he gets to do some truly villainous things in the story.
I gave been a Green Lantern fan since I was about 7 yeasr old( I am now 59 ). and I feel the wind of excetment I had when I was a kid. This novie boos looks great.
Yeah WG, I'm 45 and I get the same feeling as you; it is a great time to be a GL fan.
I promised myself that I would stay as spoiler-free as possible on this one but dammit I just can't help myself. Several sites have posted up a pic of what Parallax will supposedly look like in the movie. DC/WB have been making them take the pics down so I don't know how much longer it will be up but if you want to see what Parallax will probably look like, click on thru:
In addition to the live-action GL movie, WB is also releasing another direct to home video Green Lantern movie in June called Emerald Knights, which features 6 interconnected stories featuring various Green Lanterns. The art style appears to be identical to last year's First Flight animated movie. Here's a link to the trailer....
So why does the one green dude need a space ship to travel to earth, but Hal just needs the ring for space travel? Should I not ask that?
Its a legit question and if the movie follows the comics mythos there is a reason:
In a recent Green Lantern storyline which somewhat rewrote his origin, Abin Sur (the GL in the spaceship) lost the ability to control his ring when he confronted Parallax (the villain in the movie) and it turned out that Parallax was the yellow impurity that rendered the Green Lantern rings powerless against anything that is yellow.
The movie might follow that, or they may simply say that Abin Sur was too weak from his injuries to use the ring.
And speaking of Green Lantern, there is some new footage from WonderCon making the rounds that looks much, much more promising than the first teaser trailer. You can see it via the Apple Quicktime site here...

Oh yes. Dare I say this movie is looking freakin' awesome? My inner fanboy geek is trembling. . .
Watched the footage from WonderCon this morning with my son, we both thought it was wayyyy cool. My only decision is do I see the 3D release or the 2D version. Loved Hal reciting the oath, can't wait to see it.
There's a new GL trailer out with lots of new clips including Kilowog and Sinestro training Hal (and we get to hear Kilowog's voice) and our first glimpse of the Guardians. Looking really good with lots of iconic imagery. Click on thru....
I really, really, REALLY hope this isn't one of those times when all the good stuff is in the trailer and the rest is lame, 'cuz this is some GREAT good stuff!

When I went to watch Thor...this film was one of the trailers shown...I know absolutely nothing about the Green Lantern....the trailer looked more than a little silly and left me completely non-plussed....

Uh oh, I smell a mod war brewing....
Seriously though, this is my main concern with Green Lantern. To me (and most GL fans) the trailer looks fantastic and pretty much the culmination of everything I could have hoped for in a GL movie. But to somebody who isn't familiar with the mythos, it could all seem a bit much. Still, I could say the same thing about Star Wars or Star Trek or anything else that doesn't fit the conventions of the typical summer movie where everything is obvious and digestible from frame one. Indeed, somebody looking at Thor for the first time might well be non-plussed by the clashing styles of the movie where it veers from Shakespearean prose to midwestern drawl from one scene to the next.
Its all about context and hopefully DC and WB will do a good job in educating the public about who GL is and what he does between now and the film's release. Marvel faced a similar problem with Iron Man (there were lots of people who didn't know what to make of him before the film was released) but still managed to score a major hit and birth a new franchise.

A Mod war ? Lets hope not )
As I said, I have no idea about the Green Lantern and his universe and the trailer didn't do anything to entice me to watch it either....in fact, some of the CGI detracted from what I saw completely....in the clips where whoever he's called was dressed as the Green Lantern, his suit looked CGI....and bad CGI at that....plus when he was in the suit but minus his mask, his face 'looked odd'...then his mask appeared via the wonders of CGI and then the effect looked a little better....but still very odd looking....in fact watching the trailer the CGI just detracted from what was happening on screen so much....I'm sure it makes more sense to fans of the Green Lantern...but I sat there thinking the bad CGI just over-powered what acting/action was happening...it was the bad CGI that held my attention, not the trailer. Sorry.
Yeah, have to agree with Sir Miles. a) Don't find the green suit catching on at all. In 1978 when Superman came out you couldn't move along Oxford St without seeing guys in blue tights, red pants and a cape*, that was a cool look. b) The actor seems like the sort who has American appeal, but doesn't cut it over here, could be wrong but doesn't seem too charismatic c) CGI all gloomy and not that convincing. d) Ugly looking villain. e) Feels all a bit Dr Who bumper episode. f) Chick looks good though. g) Bored with whole ring ethos, only ring I get off on is on a donut, glazed.**
* I may be exaggerating here.
** Up to a point, but this is a family friendly site.
No, I have no desire to war with the excellent Sir Miles. That said, I'm not sure he (and Napoleon) and I saw the same trailer. I like that the suit seems to be a living entity, the Oa sets look fantastic, and I don't find the fx fake at all. . . then again, what's the standard here? It's a science fiction fantasy, not a kitchen-sink drama! And have I said how absolutely PERFECT Sinestro looks? Believe it or not, I've never been more than a casual fan of Green Lantern--but I'm stoked!

And I know better than to cross HB
The newest trailer to Green Lantern is up at Yahoo Movies; this one features a narration that explains the history and backstory of the Green Lantern Corps. Lots of new footage here that looks great**.

Emperor's new clothes and all that )
It just looks like a cartoon in places....as I've said, The Green Lantern means nothing to me so I have nothing to get excited about - other than what I see on screen....and what I see doesn't make me want to queue to go see it...I'll be interested to read the reviews though...some good reviews could change my mind and, therefore, go and watch it....

Haven't watched the most recent trailer, don't want to, I have seen enough to know I am going to the movie. The WonderCon footage looked fantastic and now I want the rest of the film to be a surprise when I see it. Still don't know if I will go 3D or not. I find 3D to be distracting at times, decisions, decisions!

While I like 3D, I'm not a fan of it being bolted on to movies for no apparent reason. Thor was a good example of this as the 3D was very subtle - moderate depth and no real pop out of the screen - and really added nothing to the experience. Hopefully GL won't fall victim to this as some sequences from the most recent trailer were clearly designed with 3D in mind so I'm cautiously hopeful that the 3D will be presented well.
Anyhow, I'll hopefully be seeing the movie in 3D on opening weekend so I'll be sure to post some impressions.
Wasn't going to bother with this film ( I grew up with marvel and loved everyone of the characters, Inc green lantern, but the trailer I saw was uninspiring...
Having read this thread I'm definitely going now!...
Is it true that the warm up act is a you-tube of the sir miles/hardy boy cage match?... B-)
