CR Bahamas khaki pants worn with Sunspel Polo

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum though I've been a Bond fan since I was a kid. I've been to all the Bond Collectors' Weekends and am a frequent visitor to jamesbondlifestyle.com for Bondian lifestyle tips.

Something I've wondered ever since I got Casino Royale on DVD. What brand were those khaki-colored jeans worn by Daniel Craig with his Sunspel polo in the Bahamas scene with M? I'm going out on a limb and assuming that they are jeans since the hip pockets have visible rivets.

I've checked jamesbondlifestyle.com. Although there is a topic devoted to the Levi STA-PREST jeans from QOS, there is no mention of these CR jeans except for a couple of forum threads. Both of those threads mention Turnbull & Asser jeans. But I emailed Turnbull & Asser and they told me that their Selvedge Khaki jeans were not the ones used.

I just received my Sunspel navy 007 Polo in the mail and I wanted to pair it with the same jeans worn by Craig in CR. I've tried a couple of similar-colored khaki jeans by Levi and Lee to see if they compare, but their jeans all have tapered legs like the STA-PREST jeans from QOS instead of the flared legs like the ones on CR. And since I have a 29" inseam, my choices for look-a-like brands are a bit limited.

Sorry if I'm rambling on here, but I tend to provide lots of detail in my online posts. If anyone can give me a lead on these jeans, it would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't hold your breath These people are not Bond fans in any sense. Purely business to them, and us lot are just not going to place a big enough order to make it viable.

Shame... that none of us will get to have the "real" thing.

But at least knowing they are linen and not cotton has saved many from inaccurate investments.

They are very nice though and I agree its a shame we will never get to own the realthing.

Think there is some confusion here the question is about teh trousers worn with the Sunspel Polo, those are defineltey NOT linen, I have no idea who made them but I suspect they may have been from Ted Baker.

The trousers everyone else is talking about are teh madagascar trousers wich ARE DEFINETLEY linen.

I am thinking of the scene where he is wearing the dark blue Sunspel polo where he has the tracking device injected into his arm.

They don't look linen to me so maybe there has been a mixup here?

I watched the scene again in CR and concentrated closely on the back pockets which provide some of the best detail in the shot. I might have jumped the gun in thinking those pants are jeans. Upon closer inspection, though the pockets have rivets like on denim jeans, the fabric looks smoother. Maybe a chino cloth?

Definitely would need a close up of the fabric to tell its texture, because I know there are cotton-linen blended jeans:

In my opinion they are cotton "jean style" trousers rather than actual jeans. I have a similar pair purchased from NEXT here in the UK but should be easy to get something akin to the ones in the movie from most menswear outlets I would have thought.

I'm with the Ted Baker theory. I've seen Ted Baker trousers with an almost identical cut.

To go on a bit of tangent, has anyone ever theorized the designer of the navy blue trousers from the Venice scenes in CR? I wondered if maybe they were Ted Baker too, since it seems most of the trousers in CR could be Ted Baker, unless part of a Brioni suit.

No, it can't be those. The ones on screen have metal rivets in the pockets. Also, the rear pockets are sewn on rather than being inner pockets like those found on jeans.
