The new Bond franchise is just like the Pierce Brosnan era.

Martin Campbell got the franchise started with Casino Royale and a different director took over with the sequel. I bet Bond 23 and Bond 24 will have different directors as well.

Maybe, but it's the content and style of the films that would make them like the Brosnan era, not just because all films would have different directors.

    I realised this connection too.
GoldenEye - gritty more serious film directed by Martin Campbell. Reinvention of series, introduction of new Bond in Brosnan. Plot involves personal betrayal as Trevelyn betrays Bond. Conventional title, good theme song.

Tomorrow Never Dies - more action packed film directed by unconventional director. Plot involves personal pain and revenge as Bond's love Paris is killed. Odd title, bad theme song.

Casino Royale - gritty more serious film directed by Martin Campbell. Reinvention of series, introduction of new Bond in Craig. Plot involves personal betrayal as Vesper betrays Bond. Conventional title, good theme song.

Quantum Of Solace - more action packed film directed by unconventional director. Plot involves personal pain and revenge as Bond's love Vesper is killed. Odd title, bad theme song.

The two main Bond girls in Quantum of Solace and Tomorrow Never Dies were physically tough too.

To perfectly honest I find your connections a little shakey.

But Ill say this, so far the two DC Bonds are much better than the Brosnan era. And especially, QoS is far better than TND.

It's just dawned no me that you can kind of do the same with Dalton's era of films.

The Living Daylights - gritty more serious film. Reinvention of series, introduction of new Bond in Dalton. Plot involves betrayal as Koskov betrays Bond. Conventional title, good theme song.

Licence To Kill - more action packed film. Plot involves personal pain and revenge as Bond's friend Felix is mamed, Della is killed. Odd title, bad theme song.

Obviously, I completely agree this is a little shaky and based on personal opinion, there is kind of a pattern here.... perhaps. It's just a bit of fun finding connections. I too agree that Craig's films are far better than TND at least.
