After reading this interview with Marc Forster, and seeing many comments from Daniel Craig as of late that Bond 23 may "lighten up" the Bond series a bit, I'm (ironically perhaps) more nervous about this development than relaxed. I for one thought both QOS and CR had plenty of appropriate humor; smart, witty, sensible for the scene rather than forced, and well delivered. Changing this approach to a more slapstick, throwaway one would be a real disservice to everything that these two films have done for the series, which is moving the cinematic Bond closer to the tone of the literary Bond and remembering that the core of Bond's character is a man who kills for a living. There is only so much slapstick humor in that line of work, and as it so often comes at the expense of the story, I sincerely hope this advice is weighted appropriately if it is listened to by the producers at all.
