I think that connerys hair in Dr.No is real.
this is a photo from 1957:

And I'm sure by 1962 you would have some hair left over.
Another thing that proves it is real is that when he is going to MS.Taro's house, while he is driving his hair like gets moved by the wind, Wigs can't do that.

Apparently in Dr No, when he is in the water shaft, the water comes in fast and you can see his bold patch a little. But I have watched it multiple times and never seen it :#

    I see.

With the forum it was in I thought you were collecting Sean's hair... :v

But yes, it wasn't until FRWL that he started wearing a hairpiece. :(|)

Even in FRWL or Goldfinger I cant really see that he has one on. Unlike in Thunderball where its pretty obvious.

I think that Roger kept his hair the whole way through. Pierce had to dye his black for Dye another day

Yes it was quite obvious in Thunderball but all of those new DVD covers look to me like they have been really touched up or photoshopped up or whatever it's called.
A shame cause I think that the original artwork would look great still. We keep original album artwork so why not moview artwork? Perhaps it would put a lot of geeks out of a an otherwise pointless job.....

There's a lot of time between 1957 and 1962--thankfully, I haven't lost my hair, but I've known plenty of guys who have lost a lot of hair in five years. As I pointed out in some other thread, Connery himself has said that he wore a "two-piece" in Dr. No--a small bit on the brow line and back of the head--so that would mean, yes, most of Connery's hair in the film is his own, but he still had a little enhancement, as it were.

I haven't lost my hair. I scoop it out of the plug hole and keep it in an envelope – just a case of waiting for medical science to catch up with me.

I read somewhere that Sean only needed a tiny hair-piece on his crown, rather than anything like a proper wig. The decision came from Cubby himself.
If you ever get a chance to see The Hill (1965)you'll see baldness has caught up rather quickly in the three years since Dr. No. It doesn't matter though, he's still probably the coolest Bond of all - syrup or not.

Personally I am proud that I am balding! I can't understand wigs or surgery to fight baldness - except in cases of guys suffering severe emotional distress.

Daniel Craigs is a good example - He'd still look great as Bond with a no 1 cut. I'm not saying it would work for everyone, but as we all know, not everyone could be 007 anyway!

Baldness is a genetic trait - it varies from person to person. Some guys are bald before they are twenty. Other have a relatively full head of hair all their lives. I have now been thining for a decade myself.

Anythign looks better than a brillo pad!
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

how old was he when he started playing 007? Why did he have to wear a wig? :s :v

He was 32 years old when Dr. No was filmed.

As I understand his baldness started at age 20, and for most of his early carrer he wore a hair piece of some kind. After he filmed Diamonds are Forever if I remember right in most of his films he did not bother any more with wigs.
