While I agree with most of what DG wrote, I still disagree that the "original Bond strap" was a NATO black and grey number that turned green with age.
I have been wearing a Phoenix NATO strap for three years, and while it has faded, no "greening" is evident.
I would observe that the strap Connery wears is actually thinner than the 18 mm strap, as the is a greater gap showing on his watch than on any of the Rolex watches pictured. Therefore I am even more convinced that the original strap was nothing more than an OTC nylon strap utilized because of the need for Bond to have a "waterproof" strap to wear for the PTS in "Goldfinger". If that OTC strap looked similiar to something issued to NATO diver's it is nothing but a concidence.
As for the red stripe, - it is no optical effect.
In any event, Camfam is to be thanked for taking on this project and creating something every Bond watch fan will love.
In the meantime, I'll still be keeping my eye out for one of the 1960's originals!!!
No greenish hue? That's strange. Well I suppose, like love, it's all in the eye of the beholder. I do agree that the Connery strap was probably closer to 16mm rather than 18mm. There is a lot of gap there! Red stripes, well I won't argue that point here. After all we're celebrating the Corvus strap. To that end, here are some more pictures:

OK...OK you've made me quite jealous with all those Bond props!!!
I shot my bolt right off with the old PPK.....
However, shouldn't at least one photo feature some fancy french cuffs. I get the naked arm with the diving gear, but it's a bit troubling with the hat, homer and gold bar. Makes me wonder exactly what old oo7 is up too!!!

Well I do have a Magnoli shirt with turn back cuffs that have the little buttons after the Turnbull and Asser originals that Connery wore. However, these were just quick and dirty shots, most of which were shot over the weekend. Didn't you know that I'm too sexy for my shirt? Where is Lady Rose when you need her? I kid.

Sure, even British GQ got it wrong when they first exhibited the Phoenix Bond strap in one of their Bond related articles about Bond gear. They paird the strap with a vintage 1965 Submariner (a 5513 Submariner). Not what Connery wore, but it did look cool. Roger Moore did wear a 5513 Submariner though.

Very nice egg cup setup DG!
Just got my straps yesterday - Cam held back the shipping as the RAF 20mm is on backorder - so still waiting on that one.
Very nice straps - first class!
Now, all I need is the Kingston to go with it - this won't work with my Casio Calculator watch )
Please post pictures anyway. Straps by themselves or with your non-Bond watch is fine. Let us see them.

Hi everyone! Due to popular demand, I now have a limited supply of the raw strapping used to make my Real Bond NATO watchstraps. Past customers can email me if they are interested in modifying a strap into one with a self-fabric keeper using some of this fabric.

I thought you all might appreciate our newest ad in WatchTime, and that to which it pays hommage.
Thanks! (Yes, the lighter is wrong. It is a vintage Thorens from the 1940's).
Cam, yep I saw that advertisement. I thought how cool is that, very Bondian. My Bradley has been getting serious wrist time for the past two weeks. Love it with the replacement saphire bezel too. I've been in touch with your brother with respect to the new wetness indicator for the dial and perhaps an additional dial. The wetness indicator will add that milspec coolness factor. Can't wait!

That's a Tudor
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
And here is an ad with a crown-guard Submariner
And there is a Submariner with crown guards, has nothing to do with the GF Rolex
I also doubt, that this particular 5512 was like that in the original condition, looks terribly "married" to me.
