Ben and Jerry's Choc fudge brownie overload for pud - life is gooooooood :D
    Uh, will you marry me?

    Yummy burrito from the awesome taqueria down the street: chicken, lightly seasoned rice, a little cheese and their fantastic tomato salsa inside. Simple but soooooo good. And maybe some Glenmorangie later. -{

No amount of explanation from the chef and manager worked, and we got that dish refunded. Then both desserts I had my eye on (not both, just 1st and 2nd choices) were sold out! It was all going so well, but then I talked the manager into two free Vespas - so managed to try the drink after all this time. Not bad, and my wife sipped hers with the same expression as Eva Greene, but I think that it was more like relief that it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be!
I'd never eaten in a Michelin starred restuarant before (and this one had two!) but it wasn't all that really. It cost over £150 before drinks, and I've eaten better gastro-pub food for £25 a head. :#

Tonight it's homemade lasagne, tossed salad and garlic bread tonight for a twentieth of the price!!! :))

    Hello secretagent,

sorry to hear about your ruined Valentine's dinner.

As a general rule, I NEVER complain about food, when I am still there. I have visions of chefs taking revenge for this by doing very nasty things with the "replacement".

Discussions with the chef or the maitres ruin the evening even more and usually lead into some embarrasement afterwards for both parties in my experience so I give it a night and a breath and complain the next day.

That's good practice. I'd rather not think about what a chef could do to your next dish if you've upset him! :# At least it was my wife's meal that went back and not mine! :))

Was this the final dinner at your favorite local Mexican restaurant? If so, did you get a chance to ask the owners if they are relocating?

That's too bad. Does the restaurant have a website you could go to? Maybe there's a contact us link you could click and fire off an e-mail to ask if they'll be relocating. Hopefully it all works out.

Stone baked pizzas on my homemade outside pizza oven. Light a few logs and push them to the back, then wait for them to burn down and put the pizzas on the hot flat stone. Then run like hell back into the house before the cheese goes hard! :))
Tonight is spinach and riccota, and good ol pepperoni

I have a great Spanish cookbook from the owner of the best tapas place in Washington DC (Jaleo).
I'm going to make their rack of lamb with honey ailloli. Probably something else from that cookbook too.
My son has 3 other boys coming to stay over for his 10th birthday. Pizza for them.
Hmmm, this is going to be busy night!
Mount Gay and Coke and maybe some Cake Bread later.

All this talk of curry has got me wanting some. How about some recipes folks?
