I had a lovely Chef salad for lunch: iceberg lettuce, home-grown tomatoes, onions, a dash of shredded cheddar, bacon, sunflower kernels and seasoned croutons...with Russian dressing. And the plate was as big as a Frisbee )

You'll find that we are all friends here, scattered throughout many different countries with many opposing views and many many opposing opinions. There are no cliques, there are no bulllies, it is a pretty much self moderating site because we all have one thing in common and respect that the differences are immense throughout the genre and individuals. Settle back and enjoy the differences, the arguments and the opinions in an open way and you'll make many good friends and enjoy many a good outing meeting those who share your passion for Bond.

Tonight it's beef pot roast---marinated in a mix of various secret spices and Lea & Perrins' Worchestershire Sauce... ...with a twice-baked potato, and green beans. Mrs. Loeffelholz lets it cook for hours before I get home from work, and the effect---when I come through the door---makes the day worth it. The big challenge afterward is staying awake ;%

For my birthday I went to Galvins at Windows, a great London restaurant on Park Lane with spectacular views of the city, including the gardens of Buckingham Palace and the MI6 building to the south (the better view imo), and Hyde Park to the north. Unlike many venues with a great view, the food is also top notch.

Sublime service. I mentioned in passing that I was the birthday boy while being seated. For dessert I had 'Happy Birthday' written on the plate; the waiter must have noticed. Three kinds of menus; the £35 one for three courses, and another at £58, then the tasting menu which is £100 plus. I had crab, salmon and avocado starter followed by the salmon fillet, with a nice Sancerre. Dessert was the cheese board and a wonderful Americano coffee.

It's great because you can sit and look out across London from the 28th floor of the Hilton (for that is where it is). I'd recommend this to any visiting American. -{

Easy supper tonight - have lots of work to do, having just taken on a brand new project for my desk top publishing company - so it was fresh Italian Sausage pasta, with a homemade tomato and basil sauce, with cheese and creme fraiche.

Dunno about all that tofu talk...but tonite it was a large pot of fluffy white rice cooked in the rice cooker, and a thick heavy sausage gumbo which is a combination of tossing in LOTS of tomatoes, fresh okra, some diced peppers (green do fine as red, but no yellow ones), Andouille sausage seperately fried in a pan, sauteed shrimp and clams with onions all thrown into a pan and cooked in butter, then compile all of that with yes, even more tomatoes, and about half a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce and a pinch (just a pinch!) of cayenne pepper grounded (I grind my own cayenne). Tossed together in a tomato sauce with the juice from the sausage...and kinda everything thrown together in a large pot to cook....that's called Gumbo, mates!


And if you're smart, in which I like to think you all are, toss in some bay leaves, but not much! serve over the rice in heaping portions with a significantly sized pitcher of very sweet tea.

Ahhh, southern-ness...

Speaking of simple yet delicious...a long day at work today, not home until 10:30 PM...Mrs. Loeffelholz made BLTs (bacon, lettuce & tomato, on toasted wheat bread with mayonnaise) for me when I finally arrived...fantastic

Wife's out tonight! 2lb of rump steak on the barbeque, 2ft of baguette, bottle of ketchup! A few beers and Where Eagles Dare on the dvd. Does it get better than that?

Breakfest for dinner. Bacon & Swiss omelette, fried potatos, white toast with strawberry jelly. I'm glad the restaurant served breakfest for dinner. That was so good. Also had a cup of coffee to wash it down with.

mom roasted a whole paprika rubbed chicken with fresh carrots and potatoes, garnished with parsley and supplemented with MOSCATO - a delicious white desert wine recommended to me by one of the family who makes it. Superb.

okay, sorry, but I've just got back from Italy - and well, I'm going to boast a bit :v

My brother lives in the country, (Urbino, which is on the East Coast of Italy) and most houses have an outside Pizza oven, made of bricks - as they literally do eat loads of pizza's out there )

We had a couple of pizza evenings, and we made pizza dough, then had a range of toppings, mainly, passatta (the tomato sauce base) - although the Italians do like the pizza bianca, which has no sauce on it at all mozzarella, a selection of pruchuto, olives, sea food, and parmesan.

However, I perfected my pizza by the second get together, and did a pizza Florentina, which is tomato, mozzarella, spinach, and then an egg which is cracked on the top and then cooked in the pizza oven. All I can say, is Pizza Express, you've got competition

However - now I'm back, I'm happy to give the pizza's a rest, and a good ol' bacon sandwich with a cup of tea went down a treat the first morning I got back

made pasta with home-made tomato basil sauce with veggies from the garden. I also whipped up some garlic bread with bits of garlic on top as well as this awesome roasted garlic powder mom found. yummy

My dinner consisted of a quite typical Puertorican dish "biftec encebollado" which literally translated is steak with onions served with a side of white rice. Now while this may sound like a simple dish, its all about the seasoning of the meat and the caramelizing of the onions. Of course the fact that my sexy soon-to-be husband cooked it for me made it extra special and delicious!

Tonight we ate at an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet restaurant in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. Ashamed to admit I did just that- the Mongolian chicken in peanut sauce was just too tempting.
