Ah, scampi & chips. A timeless classic in my opinion, sadly dropping off pub's menus rather a lot lately in favour of concoctions of Christ knows what with smudges or drizzles of reductions of this that and the other. X-(

Being a Cornish girl myself, it's very sad to hear it's dissapearing from pubs down there too
- I have always loved seafood, probably the result of being brought up by the sea - I went shrimping, rather than scrumpying when I was little - could gut a fish at 6, and swim before I could walk.....once you've lived by the sea, it never leaves you.....

For the Loeffelholzes, it's homemade pizza for Halloween. I'll build them while the boys handle trick or treat traffic...then we're wathing the classic Universal Film from 1933, The Invisible Man, directed by James Whale and starring the hardly-seen Claude Rains B-)

I was raised on a small Greek island. Adjacent to the more well known, Santorini. We didn't get electricity until the year of my birth. There wasn't even a dock for the ocean liners to dock, hence the rope ladder passenger pickups.
Every summer would be my grandfather and I, on his small fishing boat. My earliest memories were of beating octopi on the rocks to tenderize them for cooking. Or pulling the nets up. Or being bit by a cuttle fish.

When I went to Canada on a sailing holiday, I was introduced to sea cucumbers - gut those little suckers, cut them into strips and saute with garlic, and it's not too dissimilar to calamari (oh and I make a mean paella as well...)
and as for your question.... here I was thinking it was just going to be another Saturday night with the X-factor..... ;%
- wow, I would never have guessed that knowing how to gut fish would get this reaction!
(and since moving to Kent I'm quite skilled at pheasant plucking too )

I bet you miss Cornwall sometimes too. I've lived and worked elsewhere around the world, but just couldn't help coming back. There's something about the sea and air down here, I've got two kids under three and am so pleased we're bringing them up here.

In the middle of moving house this week, so nothing more than pizza, sandwiches and a certain burger chain a few miles down the road. Actually, it's not bad for a change...

Hey Pendragon, I just noticed you're following me on Twitter! Thanks, will return the compliment if I haven't already.
haha that I am you're welcome.
dinner tonight is gonna be Chinese food. I think I've settled on wontons and a grilled tofu bowl...it's got to be at least a 12 dollar order for them to deliver, and I sure as hell am not gonna walk over to Evans (next town over) to pick up my food.

I usually don't dine on frozen dinners, but tonights dinner was Marie Callender's Lasagna. That was some good eating. Too bad I didn't have any Garlic Cheesy Bread from The Fish Market about two miles from home.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope
if I can get to them in time, I'll have a panini. if not, I've got leftovers...Anthro Club meeting at 6, and as Co-President, I can't be late just for a silly thing like dinner.
had a VERY VERY late lunch today, so I count it as dinner. amazing BLT at this place in Estes Park (near Rocky Mountain National Park, BTW)
actually ran into a friend of mine up there. AND AND AND...we ran into Grant Wilson from Ghost Hunters as well!!! he and some of the crew are doing an event at the Stanley. He graciously took pix with my friends and I , and offered to help us get our own small time ghost hunting group off the ground!!!!
but I'm rambling. late lunch/dinner was delicious.
Well after a large bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale, it was steak, large flat griddled mushrooms, new potatoes, mange tout and mini sweetcorn, with a delicious mushroom and cream sauce
wine is now flowing..... (and I can't type..... you should have seen the typos ) )

going to a friend's to cook tonight. no idea what we're gonna make, but it's gonna be deeeeelicious

A 'quicky' lunch - frozen pizza. But it's a Mama Lucia's, which is a lovely thin-crust "St. Louis"-style---sausage and mushroom B-) mmmm.....

A couple of days ago I celebrated my sister's 30th birthday with a brunch with her and friends and family. Sadly pancakes weren't available (they were only available in a certain timeframe), and so I had chichen schnitzel. I never have that kind of food for non-dinner, so it was quite an experience. I don't know if I would do it again, but it was enjoyable. No doubt about that.

It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman
ordered some breadsticks from dominos...been craving them for awhile now.
and yes. that's my full dinner. I'm very unmotivated tonight.

Ham & bean soup (though it's really too thick to be considered a soup)---an old favourite from my childhood. Mrs Loeffelholz nicely approximates my mother's original creation!
P.S. Best served with ketchup dribbled on top... :v

Pork roast...falling off the bone ...A five-bean salad (green beans, wax beans, butter beans, garbanzo beans and black beans) in a sugar-vinegar sauce with onion and red bell pepper...and thin-sliced sauteed potatoes...
Mmmm. Feeling very full and sleepy now.

What type of burrito? Veggi? Chicken? Beef? Pork? Lengua? I've had bleh burritos and amazing burritos. Sometimes it depends on the ingredients.
beans. I don't trust the meat at school lol
