    Very sorry to hear about Micheal France, 51 is a really young age to go.

    Even if the finished film is not perfect, I still enjoy Goldeneye since it was the first time I got see a James Bond film in the cinema.

    Yes, sad news indeed. He desrves much credit for the original story behind GoldenEye which relaunced the series for the mid-1990s.

    Re Michael France, for me Cliffhanger has more Bondian moments than GE, it just works for me. All that stuff with the helicopter at the end, plus the chase around that snow hut and the lake. Great stuff, as well as nice moments, like when one of the assassins refuses to off one of the escaping teenage hangglider kids because even he has his integrity.

    Here's a name most of us would not recognise, but Bond fans of a certain age all know his work. Marcel van Cleemput, aka Mr Corgi, has died. The link below is a must-read.

    It is a great shame she died before getting justice...at least she lived long enough for the truth to be heard.

    Just read about the sad news that Marcel Van Cleemput has died at the age of 86.
    As most of you know he was prolific in many of the great designs for Corgi, especially the James Bond Lotus Esprit.
    Had the pleasure of meeting him once he was a very humble about his achievements. -{

    +1

    An inspiration for me, truly pioneering talent that showed the world that you don't have to be in front of the camera to be the star.

    Ray Harryhausen's films had a profound and lasting effect on me. Growing up, they offered a chance to escape the humdrum into a world of magic, myth, and monsters. And, to be honest, I don't know if I'd be spending so much time training in Kali and messing around with sticks, knives, and swords if it wasn't for Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts.

    Ray Harryhausen movies were a big part of my childhood; and when I saw the remake of Clash of the Titans a few years ago I was reminded of how much charm his creations could bring to a movie. Rest in Peace, sir!

    Bond stuntman Fred 'Nosher' Powell has passed away aged 84. His association with the Bond films began as Sean Connery's stunt double in From Russia With Love, he also worked on Goldfinger, Thunderball and Live And Let Die. Powell initially became a professional boxer, was also a bodyguard to celebrities including Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Ava Gardner. And more recently, a much loved pub landlord.
