Just a wee bit concerning the death of David Bowie ,im fed up with the continuous reports in the press that David was from Brixton
the boy from Brixton ect ect , he was from 40 Stansfield road, Stockwell, like Roger Moore and myself ,we are all Stockwell boys
I know we always think of Alan Rickman as a great villain, and he was--but he was also good in "straight" dramatic roles, in comedies, and even romance. In other words, he was a great actor. May he rest in peace.

Indeed - the most recent thing I saw him was "CBGB," about the famous New York City bar where punk was essentially born. He played the owner/proprietor - a funny and enjoyable performance, and a good film.

Natalie Cole, Lemmy, David Bowie and now this. Not a good time to be in your late 60s is it?
Superb as Hans Gruber of course, and unrecognisable from that in Love, Actually, which is showing a clip as a tribute on BBC News and though it's really Emma Thompson's scene, it is the way Alan Rickman reacts that you shouldn't underestimate. Also an enjoyable performance in Dogma, the Kevin Smith film. Truly Madly Deeply is another goodie, though I haven't actually seen that.

One of my favourite actors full stop. Such a shame.

Sad news regarding the deaths of David Bowie (I have his first self-titled album from 1967, as well as a greatest hits package and want to get more of his work) and Alan Rickman this week...

Just once, I'd have enjoyed hearing the voice of Alan Rickman saying a line such as "You have interfered with my plans for the last time, Mr Bond" .
That voice was made for better things than "See me after class, Potter."

Agreed - he'd have made a good Bond villain no doubt.
