Lauda called him shortly after 6:00 in the morning.
He said “we must meet, but bring only handluggage because, if I don‘t like you, you can immediately piss off“.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
This year has been very hard on those who made me laugh as a kid in the 1970s: Tim Conway, Arte Johnson, and now Mad magazine. Then again, this is such a serious, navel-gazing age that I don't think the comedy they represent could survive now.
RIP Rip Torn, Such a great talent, I've recently been enjoying him in a few old
episodes of Will and Grace.
RIP Freddie Jones, another great acting talent and a very long career.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
David Hedison lived a long time and he always managed to look great, no matter his age. And I will always associate him not with Felix Leiter, but with those immortal lines "Help me. . .help me!" RIP.
Still bummed out about the death of English YouTuber Emily Hart, who was killed last week while riding an electric scooter. I watched her funny '10 Reasons Why' clips some years ago, saw a few of them, they stayed with me. It does feel more personal when you see someone on YouTube rather than just on TV or something.

Very sad to hear about Rutger Hauer's passing, I have been an admirer of his work for years from Blade Runner to Escape From Sobibor and beyond. @Hardyboy I agree, he would have made a great Bond villain especially in the 1980's when his star was on the rise in the Western world.

It seems he was offered the role of a Bond villain in the 1980s.
RIP Rutger Hauer. An iconic actor who will forever be remembered for his role as Roy Batty in Blade Runner. In 1984, he was offered the part of Max Zorin in A VIEW TO A KILL but turned it down. He wanted to play 007 instead.
"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).
RIP Rutger, a lovely man I’m so privileged to have met 3 years ago. Ironically he passed in the year that Blade Runner was set, as did his greatest role Roy Batty...

I just saw that Peter Fonda has died at the age of 79. He was never the actor his father (Henry) was and he was never as acclaimed as his sister (Jane), but he gave us Easy Rider--and that's quite the accomplishment right there.

Sad to hear of the death of Rip Torn. I agree that he was great as the guest star in Columbo: Death Hits the Jackpot (1991).
