Who should have made LTK?

LTK is one of my favourite Bond films. think the plot is solid, Dalton is perfect for the movie etc.
But the direction is very standard, traditional and safe. In my oppinion they should have hired someone other than John Glen.
What if Steven Spielberg directed LTK in stead of "Allways"? Anyway, a more visionary and modern dierector could have done wonders to the visual style of the movie.
The title song is also forgettable. It would have been exiting if they asked U2 to make the song. At that time they made "The Joshua Tree" and "Rattle and Hum".
You could argue that i just named the most famous director and rosk band at the time, and you would be right. But I really would love to see that movie ....

Davids Bowie or Tina turner would also be nice.

Steven Frears, Peter Weir or even the great Martin Scorsese would be interesting director choices.

I don't think that Spielberg (a better storyteller than director IMO) would have been appropiate for LTK, or any other Bond film for that matter. I'm also not a huge U2 fan. ;) In order to improve LTK, I think that the screenplay should have been tightened and made far less messy and Dalton should have been replaced by a yong Brosnan.
