Has anyone read The Hunt For Atlantis, The Secret of Excalibur and The Tomb of Hercules?
They are great action thrillers with fantastic action and diabolic villains worthy of James Bond tales. although his main protagonist is an American woman who is not dissimilar from Lara Croft -and her sidekick is a gruff Yorkshireman who is ex SAS -the general plotting of the tales are of the ilk that all Bond fans would enjoy. There is also another comparison I'd like to make with these books and that there is an almost Modesty Blaise feel to them and the character of Eddie Chase in these books is like a northern version of Willie Garvin. In Modesty Blaise however WG is never Modesty's lover whereas in Andy McDermott's books Eddie goes from being Dr Nina Wilde's bodyguard to fiance. Anyway I just wanted to share my enjoyment of this author's tales -and to see if anyone else agrees.
Oh and I think if there was ever a chance I think Andy McDermott could write a thrilling official Bond tale.
