It's a fair point mrbond, though the actor who played Le Chiffre was Danish. I'm not sure that Le Chiffre has anything French about him than the name. After all, in the book Le Chiffre is nothing like the villain of the film but is a very English fellow, condescending, in fact now I think about it just like the bloke who earns our fledgling agent is second kill... You can imagine him doing the 'cowboys and indians' speech in the book (not in the film).

As for Mr Greene, yes he's French. Could it be a way of currying favour with (some) Americans, who are said to dislike the French since their non-involvement with Iraq and so on...?

sorry but i cant make it through to the end of Sir Roger 'i'll kill the bad guys at the end, after they've strangled me' Moore. I sincerely hope he didnt get the knighthood for his acting skills. I'd remind you to watch a view to a kill. Sir Roger falls asleep when he is at Stacey Suttons house protecting her. sorry but Dalton would have been a one man army, protecting anybody.
