The title song for DAF is a remarkable piece of work by John Barry and Don Black. JB's melody is unique and definitely memorable, and is supported by his excellent arrangement. The ostinato* is a perfect example of an earworm- once heard, never forgotten- and musically could be interpreted as diamond shaped (eight notes in symmetry).
After reading this I am quite proud I voted for this song as my No.1 Bond song.
I'll admit I had never heard of the word ostinato but after googling and reading (Wikipedia) what it meant I have a fair understanding. One learns something everyday. So many songs and musicians/bands/composers that I have in my collection from the many genres I like (rock, blues, jazz, reggae, classical to name a few) were actually listed.
Makes for interesting reading in my opinion anyway.
Yes it's fantastic what you can learn on this site, Barbels musical knowledge is tremendous and I've been educated by him a few times. There really are some brilliant members on this forum....it's a good place to be
Agree with above, the change heralded in the new era.
( I think Higgins is the consumate watch expert round these parts, my knowledge is limited, I'm a horology tinkerer)
Favourite is easy: Goldfinger. Nothing beats it, in my opinion.
Least favourite is slightly more difficult, but I'll go with Licence to Kill. It's not that it's a bad song, but it's the one that I least enjoy listening to. I've found that I've really enjoyed it performed live, but in the context of the film as well as on album it just doesn't do much for me.

and that you prove with any watch-related topic 8-)
You should stick with politics, where your knowledge is slightly better
So, when are you coming to the dark side and are getting yourself a Rolex? :v
I've had a couple over the years, sold a blue submariner earlier this year..... With a worn and noisy rotor arm, I'd like a vintage submariner in all truthfulness may have a look round next year.

Ostinatos are a big part of Bond music. The James Bond Theme has one of the most famous ostinatos, and John Barry uses them very, very often in his music.

What's your thoughts about YKMN, Barbel?
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
(And thank you, CC, though both you and Higgins know far far more about watches than I do!) {[]

which doesn't say much judging the amount of knowledge that you are having on this topic

I've only seen you showing your Omegas here
Blue Submariner, was that two-tone or whitegold?

I also don't think LTK fitted the film or Dalton, though away from the film it's a good listen.

Nothing fits Dalton ;%
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Favourites
Goldfinger- Iconic and sinister. Shirley gives it her all! Her best of the 3 Bond themes she did.
YOLT- I like the oriental sound to the theme.
TB- Bombastic and memorable.
LALD- A great theme for Roger's first Bond. Love the funky sound.
Least
Moonraker- Not a bad song per se, but i'd like it more if the lyrics made more sense.
Spectre- Too falsetto for my liking.
QOS- 3 minutes of shouting! Not my cup of tea at all.
TND- Sheryl Crow clearly struggles to hit the high notes in the chorus. I would've preferred Surrender as the main theme song.
" I don't listen to hip hop!"
