    What's right with him ? :p

Seriously though, he was a pretty lame character. First off, his so called motivation of vengence made no sense. You would have to believe he was over 50 years old . Secound, he was touted as the villian who knew Bond but was surprised every time he popped up. He only used his prior relationship with Bond to make fun of him. Last, he didn't give a slight air of menace or even being a remotely interesting character. He was just "generic Bond villian" with a forgetable plot to menace the world. Also that part with slobbering all over Natalya was embarrassing and just laughable. I honestly think General Ormunov was the best villian in the film, he wasn't terrible interesting but he had a presence.

you must forgive, but i attach emotional connectivity to the character as it was the first bond movie I saw in theaters when I was "yay high"

    as it were.

and let's not get into James Bond plot elements taht don't make sense (from the movies at least)

    we'd be here all day.

However, you make some good points. However you're estimation of his age doesn't quite fit (i believe). There was no mention of when his parents died, only how they died. It merely mentioned that he was young.

It is a pretty ridiculous one even for a Bond film, it's more common sense then anything. This is not like Dr.No's and Goldfinger's schemes not making sense in terms of scietific reasoning.

Remember that Zukovsky said that the Lienz Cossacks were ordered to be shot by Stalin after WWII. This took place about 1945 to about 1947, exactly or near fifty years after this film takes place.

Edit: As much as I hate to do it, Mr. White lost a point awhile back (dropping the total to 139), so I'm giving it back to him, as well as raising our point total back to 140.

You don't get what I am saying. This is historical fact of when those executions happened, they happened around that time period. Ergo, Alec himself has to be over 50 years old.
