Craig drives Audi. I would think Bond would go British with Jaguar though, and if it were real life, Aston Martin would be unlikely. I think the Range Rovers of CR and Quantum of Solace are also Bond possibilities as he adventures and they are British SUVs.
I like the idea that he would restore a Bentley or Aston Martin, or get an old one as that would be realistic for his salary, but still be a Bond personality move.
I think Daniel Craig mentioned in an interview that he was going to get the new Lotus. I don't know if that was just him making a Bond reference. Jay Leno did say that Craig didn't seem like a car guy.

Its somewhere between an M5 and an XKR-R...... hmmm
BINGO!!!! :
Ah, the XJR another one of my favorite Jaguars. Only problem Jags, especially black Jags seem to be the car of choice for the villains in the more recent Bond films, but you could do a lot worse...
What would Bond drive in real life? If you mean he were a real person that exists today, but is still
the character Fleming created, then he would still be a Bentley man. He might get one customized to his liking, but Fleming and Bond were Bentley fans. Granted, Fleming drove a Thunderbird when he was writing the novels, but since they are no longer made and we are talking about Bond, it would be a Bentley.

Not necessarily true, regarding Bond not driving a car that was no longer made. Remember his original Bentley was around 30 years old so he is not opposed to an older, out of production, model. I do think it would have to be a British car though, unless he has conceded the car argument to Leiter regarding British vs American cars, and I really don't see that happening.
If Bond were independently wealthy then a Bentley or other exotic would be a possibility. You also have to assume covert is not a consideration which limits how exotic you are going to get. If he does want to maintain a low profile this just barely lets things like Jags in. This can be overcome if you assume his cover ID will always be that of a wealthy individual which would explain his being issued more exotic cars, but not necessarily his owning one. If you remember, when he crashes the old Bentley in Moonraker (book) he purchases the new one with the insurance money. One of the non-Fleming books explains this by having him come into some inheritance money and in Carte Blanche he apparently has some family money which explains the Bentley.
It is, however, more fun to ignore such considerations and just outfit Bond with the coolest car imaginable.
You actually have that kind of backwards. Aston Martin has used and still uses sub-assemblies they acquired from Jaguar including chassis and engines. This may start to vary now that Ford no longer owns Jag or has an interest in Aston Martin although I understand there was a parts availability clause in the contract between Ford and Tata Motors Limited so one could probably rightly assume this was also a factor in the Aston contract and is something Tata inherited when they purchase Jag from Ford.

Engines. That's ending in the very near future, however, the announcement from Jaguar Land Rover on a new engine plant in Wolverhampton will sever the last links with Ford.
Ford retain a minority holding in Aston Martin Lagonda, however.
On topic though, I'd like to think something classy but something very much in keeping with the shockingly low salary of an SIS operative - to buy, anyway - and that would need ro depend on casino wins to keep running... Without much irony, i give you

I could live with that! Like Bond's original Bentley, it would perhaps be an older classic that he saved or restored, and from an era in which one was reminded of the marque's racing pedigree.
I actually feel that Bentley has changed so much that no Bentley made in the last 50 years would suit the character anymore. I remember characters from the books, like Drax in Moonraker, commenting favorably about Bentley's pre-war racing days when he saw Bond's Bentley. Anyone alive today is more likely to think of Grey Poupon commercials than racing. And yes, I know those commercials actually featured Rolls-Royces - but that's my point; they're associated with stuffy upper-class old men and 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous' celebrities these days.

I not so sure of that. The new Continental GTC accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 195mph. It still has a modern yet understated stylish look that says "I'm about power and style, not flash". If Bond had the means and were a real person but had the same position and lifestyle, I still believe he would have one for his personal car. I also believe he could afford to own it and maintain it if he would still be a real professional gambler. Professional poker players, for example, are well known to make $1- 10 million per year.

Not questioning the car's sportiness or ability, just the fact it's not known by the public as a marque that participated in the racing scene in recent memory, while Aston still has that cachet.

Not sure where you are from, but in Britain Bentley has become a bit tarnished as the weapon of choice of Soccer players who are generally not regarded as arbiters of taste and refinement, but a bit crass.
We all see Bond as an individual, or at least I presume we all do. "New money" ie footballers, lottery winners, reality
tv "stars" , one minute pop music wonders and the like generally come from nothing and have not tailored their style along the way. Their journey into money is instant and they tend to buy something and then seek to "improve" it. These are the people that see 22" spinners in chrome a good thing on a DB9. They like xenon clear lights with led surrounds, they have huge sub-woofers and 1000 watt ICE. Without the money they are now endowed with, these would be otherwise 10 year old BMW 3 series drivers who think they fool everybody with an M badge, 18" alloys and a large exhaust pipe. In their mind they are in an M3 and not a shi*ty 318i. These are the moneyed people who dilute and take the shine off beautiful cars like the Bentley, the Astons and Jags we all so love.
These are also the people who because of their crassness and desire to have new, shiny and an instant image, fail to look towards the classics. These people don't see the beauty of an E-type, a Jensen, an old DBS - to them they are just old cars.
I see Bond in a nice classic - in essence how Fleming saw him with the 30's Bentley. An individual's car, not proving anything - yet enjoying the handling, the engine, the exhaust note...
This is great news to all of us with taste, class, individuality and without hundreds of thousands to spend. Classics like MGB's, Jag XJS's, GT6's, early Porsche 911's and a lot more are all to be had for less than the price of a new Ford Focus and just think of what fun you could have, and how different you could be to everbody else!

And regarding the comments about Bentleys ( the modern Roger rabbit cartoon versions, not the immaculate 4 1/2 litter version from the 30s) irrespective of their association with footballers and their wives, the cars just lack class, finesse and style.... Big, bulky and shapeless.... Personally I'd rather see bond in a suburban.... 8-)
I'd quite like to see a good motorbike scene - I know we had a small one in QOS but I felt it was really lacking, and Craig looked oddly uncomfortable on the bike when riding through the streets. But that's a bit off topic, I know.
Actually, maybe Bond doesn't have a car in real life - that's why he treats the Astons with little respect and trashes them after a few minutes behind the wheel. Maybe his driving isn't all that... )

No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!!
Hey TSA just found this..... Was on this damned cruise so must have missed it...
She's a beauty alright....v10 "chipped" to 546 bhp eh? I bet it accelerates like a dream...
And she looks gorgeous.....
Brozza would!

Yep - all things Aston Martin seem pipped by that baby XK. It's stunning.

Agreed. Its like Aston Martin and Maserati have the most beautiful car children known as Jaguar.

Brosa never looked uncomfortable on a bike, here in TnD, nor in Goldeneye..
Well I would take the bottom one anyday... sorry but the Bentley is just too stuffy... and 'old manish'...
He should drive a car, like he likes his woman.... fast, sexy, with a few curves, and puurrrs under the hood when the right buttons are pushed.....
I rest my case mu'lud
