How about, just for a lark, suggesting completely inappropriate artistes to perform a Bond title song?

I actually think Jacko might have done a good bond song in his day. His duet with Paul McCartney, "Say Say Say" sounds like something from the Moore era.

    But what about Nickleback?

Kate Bush was on the shortlist to perform the title song for MR. Sources vary as to whether she declined or wasn't eventually asked. Frank Sinatra was also on the list.

I am a big Sinatra fan, but I could never imagine him singing a 007 theme, there's something in his ballad style and phrasing that is too fragile. He isn't flambouant enough. The beauty of albums like No One Cares and In The Wee Small Hours is in the almost bitter, sorrowful tone.
Kate Bush would have been really great I think. Indeed she probably still could be. I didn't think much of her last effort but The Red Shoes, The Sensual World and Hounds of Love were constantly on my CD player when I was younger.
